Absolutely recommend to anyone willing to listen! This restaurant is truly one of, if not, my favorite restaurant in Stafford. Great food, service, and there’s something about eating from nice dishes that elevates the experience. I came in during a dinner rush, but was quickly seated at the bar and even with the packed restaurant my food came out quickly and piping hot. I ordered samosa chaat(recommended by another guest), shrimp masala and garlic naan. If you’re looking for an authentic, flavorful dining experience please do yourself a favor and check out Taj Indian Cuisine!

We went on Saturday night to Taj Indian Cuisine and it was fabulous! We were so excited for it to have finally opened and it was well worth the wait. They completely renovated the inside and it now has comfortable booths and if you have a larger party that have 2 bigger booths ready to accommodate that feel semi private too. The food was delicious! We have 2 different dishes but both were off their signature dishes. I had the chicken tikka masala and my husband had the methi malai chicken both were so good. The rice on the side was perfect and we had the garlic chili naan and the garlic naan ( get the garlic chili if you are only ordering one). The service was excellent the food was delicious and the ambience was pretty and inviting. Give them a try and tell them Ginger sent you!

I had previously been to the Taj in Fredericksburg (on Rt3) many times over the years and have always really enjoyed it. I love how they’re not afraid of spices, heat, nor making food the way it’s SUPPOSED TO BE MADE! Not making food for Americans, which is the kiss of death for ethnic joints.

So, when I heard/saw many months ago we were getting this Taj here in Stafford, I was excite for it to open… and waited a very long time too! Then, finally we were able to go one day for lunch, since their website said they’re open at 11AM. I went only to be disappointed to see their door saying they open at 11AM, but a hand-written sign saying they are only open for dinner, at 5PM. So, I left and came back a week later.

When I went in, they were very busy (which I find disappointing, as there is another Pakistani joint less than a mile from here, and it’s always dead, but it has great food – why not go there too?), but we were able to score a booth. The menu is large and loaded with all the dishes I like and even though there was only two of us dining, I got many things with the idea of bringing home leftovers and sharing with the family the next day.

All the food we ordered was PERFECT! It’s Punjabi style Indian, which has a LOT of carry-over flavors from Pakistani style eats, which I’m very familiar with (and love so much more than “regular” Indian food) – So I absolutely loved it! Presentation was spot-on too! They use the Thali (a tin bowl to serve food to share at the table) to plate their dishes. Their naan was INCREDIBLE! Perfectly made and a great size. We ordered is without butter (which is how you’re supposed to eat it) and uncut, so we could rip pieces to use as a “utensil” while eating each bite.

Spice levels are legit! Be sure you’re ready for what you ask them to prepare! We order a couple in “medium” and several in “spicy” and those dishes were pretty much dialed in. Service was very friendly, helpful, and sincere too.

Overall – I am so very happy this place is here as I can now get the flavors I love quicker, easier, closer! BTW – The leftovers that I shared with my family the next day were met with rave reviews as well. We’re a Pakistani family, so we are quite familiar with curries… we really enjoyed what they’re doing here and will most definitely return!

We had a warm welcome and enjoyed delicious food! Every dish was amazing and beautifully presented. The restaurant feels upscale in Stafford! It’s decorated nicely with quality serving ware. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed butter chicken, tandoori lamb chops, a vegetable dish, and garlic naan. We’ll be back soon!

So happy Taj has opened a location in Stafford. Best Indian cuisine in the area! Everything comes out hot and fresh. Spice levels are optional and ours came out perfect (we enjoy spicy). The mango lassi was the right balance of tart & sweet. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. We left full and looking forward to delicious leftovers.

The best indian food in stafford, we have been here 3 times in the last month and keep coming back to explore the menu. Service is fantastic and the portions are large enough for two meals. Highly recommend.

Food was delicious and service excellent! 100% recommend.

One suggestion: can you add Baigan Bharta (eggplant) to your menu?

We tried Taj for the first time via delivery. I will always say this, Poke Holes in the Fried Food containers. Trust me it will help keep our items crunchy by getting rid of the steam (just my tip of the day ). That being said, they wrap their curry dishes very well. The plastic wrap isn’t necessary for the items that don’t spill, but the attention paid to keeping our items in tact, was appreciated. On to the food.

Veggie Fritters – Good, but I know they’d be awesome if ordered there. I was able to recrisp them in the air fryer though. I thought he flavor was ok. I ended up dipping them in my butter chicken sauce since I’m not a fan of the tamarind.

The mint/green chutney wasn’t my fave. Hubby liked it but It just didn’t have any nuance to me and all I tasted was mint.

Meat Samosas were amazing. I’m so happy they offer a meat option! The flavor and texture were so good. They held their crunch better than the fritters. I will def order these again.

I got the kids butter chicken, just to get a taste of it and not have the big portion. No spice option for the kids portion, so it was mild. The flavor was ok, I thought it was a tad too sweet. The chicken was very tender (not mushy) and I was happy with it.

Hubby ordered the chicken vindaloo (med heat). I tried this one, and the med heat was def spicy, but didn’t take away from the flavor of the curry. It was so good. Good depth of flavor. Beautiful color as well. I would def try this one myself with lamb I think.

The garlic naan used lots of fresh garlic and lots of butter. I liked the texture of the naan, it’s on the softer side so it’s easier to eat the next day.

A smallish place, clean and attractive. Indian music playing on the stereo and Indian music videos on the telly. Full service bar and a fairly big selection of dishes. I had the Kheema Samosa appetizer which was good, the chicken Tikka Masala (#4 hot level), rice and garlic Naan which were all really excellent. Prices are kind of high but portions are large so it evens out. My only complaint is the bar; I had a Jack and Coke which was served weak and flat. Overall, I really like Taj and I’m looking forward to trying it again. Recommended.
