Husband and I love this place!! We love getting the lotus, egg plant and friend chicken service is also better than your avg Asian restaurant. Porridge with sweet potato also slaps!

I ordered three dishes from Panda delivery that they fetched the dishes from the restaurant and delivered to the customer home. I bought “Fried Tofu” and “Steer fried squid with celery”. The third one is “meatball stew with cabbage “. Except the meatball, the other two dishes are so dry and hard to chew! Totally not consistent with the description nor the photos attached on their website. It is so disgusting! It is not right the restaurant did this for those customers who ordered delivery food. Since we are not in their dining place, so they felt they can provide whatever food to them! So don’t order for delivery from here!

TLDR: way smaller portions in person than takeaway, decent food quality.
We ordered to dine-in and noticed that the plates they used were way smaller than the take-out box portion, yet the price was exactly the same. The food quality was decent, with my favorite being the chili beef tripe. The porridge itself was average, nothing to write home about, though the consistency/texture is on point without being too watery.

Love the traditional Taiwan Porridge with variety of dishes to choose from. Lunch special set can be 3 or 4 dishes. They offer prepared dishes and made to order dishes too. Great taste but eating environment is pretty dated.
Meat ball, spicy pork blood and tofu, peanut with anchovy, pork tongue. All these are my favorite.

Incredible place. We went in for lunch after my wife saw it as we drove by. We got 2x the “plate w/3 sides” and it was great. Picking the sides was fine, and they tasted extremely fresh. The whole experience was so different than a normal restaurant – no waiting to get a table, menu checking, etc – just go up and order asap. Then the food comes right away, and it’s super fresh. We got at least jiu cai + fried egg, semi-spicy fish, green beans, some kind of chicken dish. Those are the ones I focused on & which were really super great.
Each of the plates was 14$… what an incredible deal. Is this only at lunch or dinner too? I couldn’t believe it. Why wouldn’t you go here every day? Huge fan, thanks

The food is good. There’s definitely some dishes that are better than others. I loved the potato salad and pig ear. I think the sweet potato in the porridge could’ve been cooked longer.
They have a good selection of appetizers that I really like. It’s a little confusing what exactly you’re ordering if you’re doing pick up and aren’t a native mandarin speaker.

The restaurant is named as Taiwan Porridge but the dishes served are very much northern Chinese tapas dishes. Each one is cold and small in portion, but the flavors are not bad. This is a very small eatery so prepare to rub elbows with your neighboring table.
