Suki’s service is top notch. She’s professional and practically runs the show single-handed when assistant was on break. Eager to please she managed to get the chef to whip up my special request off-menu beef noodle dish. The beef was tender and house-made noodles cooked just right.Ambience could be better but is what it is. The herbal chicken soup was tasty neither salty nor oily reminiscent of home-cooked goodness. For those like us away on long vacation this was heartening and much appreciated. Thank you Suki!

I was looking forward in trying this restaurant because there aren’t many foods from this area. Food wasn’t up to what I had before. Service is almost nil. My main complaint is that this restaurant is unethical. There are 3 different prices for the same food item. The “A” card on the sidewalk is the cheapest price. The printed menu is a higher price by at least $1 and the QR code is even higher. On top of that, mandatory minimum tip is 15% for lunch and 18% for dinner. It does not mention anywhere that tipping is mandatory. If you don’t read your bill carefully, you will notice that at the bottom of the bill, it has suggested tipping with the minimum of 15%. This 15% is based on the food, tax and minimum tip. So in essence, you will be paying more than double the tip.

Worst food I’ve eaten in a while, it’s definitely a coin flip here whether you’ll get something good or horrible. In the pig feet over rice dish, it tasted undercooked, barely any preparation – and sour (unintended) as if the meat was too old. I would not recommend this restaurant, there are many other wonderful restaurants in SF Chinatown, this is not one of them.

One of the very few restaurants here that actually tastes like something you’d get in China. Literally everything we ordered was amazing. This will be my new go-to restaurant in Chinatown

This was the old hunan homes spot, not the same atmosphere or food. But the staff was very sweet and helpful. I’d go here again. The spring rolls were tasty

We have been wanting to try Taishan Cuisine, but we run on East Coast time, so it has been a struggle with their operating hours. Taishan Restaurant is a real treat. Mainly stuck with dim sum to test the waters but will definitely be back for their dinner menu! A+

This place is so wonderful. I stumbled in at 8:30 on a Sunday night and they were so accommodating. The tea, the food, the family atmosphere is outstanding. I was so happy to have an authentic Chinatown experience!!
