Been my top for Chinese takeout for a long time. It’s quality and great flavor. Lunch Specials end at 3. We ordered GT Chicken, and scallion chicken, crab Rangoon, pan fried pork dumplings and special (chicken, beef, shrimp) Lo Mein. I recommend takeout because it’s a small establishment. Also, the lot is very limited due to some construction beside it. Order before you head over during lunch hours. The food is super duper hot and made fresh. If you order deliver I imagine it will arrive hot because dine in temp was scorching! Service was standard. The lady that looks like she runs the place is kind. Before ordering a drink, ask if the machine is working properly. Today, it wasn’t so we didn’t get the drinks we wanted. GENERAL TSO CHICKEN 10/10.

Taipei Express;

Beef & Broccoli with a Roll + Egg Drop & Wonton Soup ($15)

There’s a quiet kind of joy in a place like Taipei Express — the kind where the staff greet you with genuine smiles and make you feel like they’ve been expecting you all along. My order was simple: beef and broccoli with a roll, plus a bowl of egg drop and wonton soup. Fifteen dollars well spent.

The beef came tender, coated in a glossy sauce that struck the right balance between savory and a hint of sweet. The broccoli was bright green, crisp but cooked through, soaking up just enough flavor to keep every bite interesting. That little roll on the side — soft, warm, a little buttery — ended up being the perfect tool to clean the plate.

The soup was a small comfort in itself — the silky strands of egg floating around soft wontons, the broth light but full of warmth. It’s the kind of meal that doesn’t try too hard, just quietly hits the spot.

Taipei Express isn’t fancy, but it doesn’t need to be. It’s good food, kind people, and the kind of comfort that keeps you coming back.

Honey walnut shrimp was shrimp in a fried circle (half the circle was filled. You get small piece of shrimp and the rest is dough) with spicy orange brown sauce. Which still had no flavor. I could only tell it was spicy orange brown sauce because of the orange peel and peppers at the bottom. Fried rice was cold. She charged me an extra because I got fried rice. Will never go again.

Food is ok. My rice tasted very burnt but the chicken was pretty good. Not my favorite Chinese food by far but enough to scratch the Chinese food itch. $17 was way too expensive but you do get alot of food. So be prepared to share the meal.

First time buyer, I got the Sesame chicken cause i normally really enjoy the sweet and savory flavor. The taste was fine, i just couldn’t get past the inconsistent texture of the chicken. The first few pieces chicken were soft and mushy (probably soaked breading) and then I’d feel some chicken texture. After the 3rd piece i couldn’t do it anymore. Spent $15 on it so I expected a bit better quality of sesame chicken. Maybe i should ask them to fry it hard for me. The fried rice was cool can’t complain. Overall 2/5. I think the staff is very friendly and would give them another try but order something else! Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience. The sweet and sour shrimp had an overly thick, under-fried batter, while the shrimp themselves were overcooked. To make matters worse, I’m fairly certain there was a piece of chicken mixed in, which is not acceptable as a pescatarian. Despite the positive reviews, I wouldn’t return.

So far best Chinese spot I’ve been in since I moved here from NY. So for starters me and my hubby can eat – we enjoy a good portion. We definitely underestimated how big their portions were- it was enough for dinner and lunch the next day!
General chicken is good but I would prefer it spicier- just has a kick to it not really spicy
Lo mein was flavorful and not salty – just right!
Rice was mild in flavor but not bad or oily which is good.
The biggest disappointment was the wonton soup. It only brought 2 small wontons all you get is broth. Was super sad about that as I cant find any places here that actually gives more wontons! Other than that you will def get a bang for your buck and food is delicious!

It is always a pleasure to obtain a meal from here! Staff is always so welcoming, whether via phone or in person. Tonight, I’m having Green Beans, Chicken in garlic sauce, complimented with brown rice. I also added broccoli & water chestnuts to it, medium spices. Many thanks again for such a lovely meal.
