It’s our go-to place when I’m at a loss for a restaurant to go to. Besides, there aren’t many restaurants open on Christmas Day. The food is delicious and comes with generous portions. The service has always been efficient.
We always order two of our favorite dishes: fish with crispy soybean and dry combo hot pot. They are as good as ever. Once again, Taipei Cafe delivered a great dining experience!

Got the meatball (肉圆, more of a huge glutinous dumpling), thinly sliced beef with peppers, three cup chicken (三杯鸡), radish pancake/omelette, steamed fish filet, and yu cai (油菜). Also got a little bowl of ground meat on rice (卤肉饭) which also comes with a tea egg. Everything was very tasty, and very Taiwanese. Highly recommend the meatball (I’m not sure that this is a great translation though, it’s not really a meatball) and the beef with peppers.

There aren’t a ton of Taiwanese restaurants in the area, so we had to try out Taipei Cafe. Service is extremely fast; eight dishes came out within 10-15minutes max.
The beef noodle soup and fried chicken were excellent! Some of their other dishes (pig ear, stinky tofu) were average at best. Prices are reasonable and portions were decent. Overall not bad but do your research before placing your order.

We tried at the restaurant for the first time and it was a good experience. The food came out pretty fast, and some of the items were good. The place is pretty decent for dining. However, they didn’t put any music until halfway to our dinner. Overall, the food is healthy and good service, so definitely try them out. I would probably suggest good music for more positive vibes.

Oyster omelettes were 5 stars by themselves. Soo delicious and authentic tasting! And very hearty as a meal for one person. The veggie dish was okay – quite plain, but served as a nice complement to the other dishes. The skewered shrimp were an explosion of flavor and spice.

The food is absolutely amazing! We came in for dinner and they served the food pretty fast. The owner and servers are really nice and welcoming. Large portion size for everything we ordered. Very authentic and delicious stinky tofu 🙂 Strongly recommend!!!

(Dec. 2025) Revisited again. Ordered Braised Pork on Rice 焢肉飯 ($13.95), Beef Stew Noodle Soup 紅燒牛肉麵 ($13.95), Crispy Stinky Bean Curd 臭豆腐 ($12.95), Oyster Pancake 蚵仔煎 ($12.95 increased from past $10.95), Fried Chicken w. Salt & Pepper 鹽酥雞 ($7.95), Taiwan Shaved Ice 刨冰 ($10.95).

Lots of Taiwanese special food that many Taiwanese restaurants in US does not even have it on their menu, not to mention the food quality. Ordered Four-herb soup ($8.95), Crispy Stinky Tofu ($12.95), Oyster Pancake ($10.95), Taiwanese-style Meat Pie ($6.95), Fried chicken with salt & pepper (aka popcorn chicken $7.95) , Pork Xiao Long Bao ($10.95) and Taiwanese shaved ice ($10.95).
All the dishes are good. Stinky Tofu is on the pricy side, but the quality is good. Oyster Pancake does have lots of oysters; good values. However, for those who are not from Taiwan, this dish is too alien for them to enjoy. I also enjoyed Taiwanese-style Meat Pie since I cannot remember last time I have it.. Xiao Long Bao is good but not particular stands out. Shaved ice is great too with lots of Taros but it’s slightly pricy.
Overall, one of the few decent Taiwanese restaurants outside CA and NY; look forward to coming back again.
