Found the place while just passing through on a drive from up Winston Salem way. The food was great!! Hot, fresh and tasty. The service was on point and friendly.
We both got the gator bites appetizer which was phenomenal. My fiance got ribs and fries with the ribs being perfectly tender and seasoned. I got the gator wrap and I loved it. It has the same gator bites as the appetizer, with cheese, lettuce, tomato and a hot sauce. Again, I loved it and I’m not a fan of wraps. Both plates had fries and they were one of the best fries ever. Perfectly crispy with a fluffy center that was well balanced and they held their heat well.
Definitely not apposed to an hour drive down here to eat again.

I went here today and got the chips and queso and Gator nuggies with sauce. The gator nuggies were very good and the sauce complemented them very nicely. Today was Wednesday and they had a special burger club sandwich between Texas toast. I really liked the burger club but it was too much food for me to eat. The toast didn’t really taste like Texas toast but it was still very good. The service and atmosphere was nice and it wasn’t very crowded when I went.

Arrived right before puck drop for Round 1, Game 4 of the Hurricanes vs Islanders. Called earlier in the week to ensure they’d have the game on. Asked to have the game put on one of the 12 or so TVs, was told “if you can figure out what channel”. Got the game going just a couple of minutes later. They had a couple of local draughts but the out server couldn’t explain anything about them. Ordered Salt & Pepper and Mild wings, average typical bar wings. The Tater Tots were perfect! At a tad before 4 pm, our server asked if we could settle our bill, as she was off at four. From the time she left until the game was over at 5:45 pm, (nearly two hours) nobody cleared our high top, checked on us, offered another drink… Our table was directly in front of the server station. Every server passed our table numerous times. It’s cool place tons of sporting banners, ample seating inside and an awesome outdoor patio area. Bar management has failed their staff. I would not recommend Tailgators.

We had a party of 4 adults and 1 child, we set outside as the weather was awesome and the outdoor seating is nice. I ordered the homade chips and dipping sauce for an appetizer, they were perfect, crispy outside with a little bite and we’ll seasoned these were good. I had the sirloin burger, Juicy with bacon, lettuce and tomato, I would order that again. The whole table said that there food was good. If you’re in the area I don’t think you could go wrong here.

I grew up around Tailgators and here’s my honest review in 2025:
I remember the food always being on point. Service was always good. Atmosphere full of football games, UFC fights, or whatever sports event is on. Revisiting I have to say I’m slightly disappointed. For starters, it’s a Saturday mid-afternoon and it’s practically dead in here. Despite that, our server is very nice but not attentive at all. Took forever to bring drinks, take our order, and fulfill requests. As for the food, I got the ribs and fries. Fries came out almost uncooked (which sucks because they have the best crispy fries usually) and the ribs were tough (they usually to fall off the bone.) Whoever is running the kitchen today took forever to make the food and didn’t cook it correctly. My son’s water had dirt in it or something. Despite this, the barbecue sauce is still one of the best around, and they brought me new fries. Ambience is typical. College football day so all the games are on. Long Island iced teas were inconsistent. Every one tasted different. I’m going to write this experience off as a fluke and hope that this isn’t what the restaurant has become. I’ll come back in a few weeks and review again.

First time going here, I called in a Togo order. Upon arrival I paid in cash, total was $12.70 gave $15.00 was asked if I wanted my change, yes I do. I do tip on Togo orders by not 20%. I can only assume she didn’t like that as when she brought my change she pointed to my order and said “that’s your order over there” rather than making an effort to get it for me. I placed a tip on the counter but immediately picked it back up and I’m glad I did as there were no utensils nor napkins supplied with my order. Now for the food…… I ordered the breaded buffalo chicken sandwich with a side of potato salad. The sandwich did not resemble a buffalo chicken sandwich I’d ever seen before and it was nothing short or disgusting. The bun was so stale that when playing rock paper scissors with my kids I grabbed the bun and broke the rock. While this was my first visit to this establishment it is also my last. Buffalo sauce on Dino nuggets at home is better.

We hadn’t been here in awhile, but decided to try their takeout. We were certainly not disappointed! The gator bites appetizer was fresh, tender and flavorful. My husband had the country fried steak and I had the grilled chicken with vegetables. Both were excellent. We definitely will be coming back more often!!

Man, those hot chicken tenders hurt my back. They were so perfect and delicious I went home and started breakdancing and haven’t stretched in a while. But I’ll be back after I lay on this Ice pack for a minute! Oh and update, the ranch is perfect!

Don’t let the “hole in the wall” vibe fool you, this place is a hidden gem. The food was great and the bartenders were friendly and attentive (Taylor and Morgan were awesome).
What really stood out was how accommodating they were with my food allergies (severe). They took it seriously without making it awkward, and I felt totally safe the whole time.
If you’re looking for great food and a chill, welcoming atmosphere definitely check this place out!
