Wonderful little hole in the wall Cantonese-style Chinese food. It’s unassuming, but the dishes were all done well! Everything we ordered was excellent. My favorite dish was the salt and pepper fried cod. It was fried so well as the batter was different that most places I’ve tried. Thre restuarant received a stamp of approval from my parents and grandparents, which says a lot as we’re from the region.
The staff were very warm and attentive and super helpful! The prices were very reasonable as well. They do have some off-menu items, so you can ask about those. All-in-all, this is a solid Cantonese spot and I can definitely see this being a usual place for my family.

Super tasty entrees all around. The beef brisket casserole was jam packed with flavor and super tender (melted in our mouths). The shrimp patties were super juicy and the perfect appetizer. The beef tripe noodles were beefy yet light. The surprise hit was the sweet and sour fish! Crispy and sweet, it was a great entree that was recommended by our waitress. Very friendly staff. Clean establishment. They even had a menu for the Quickly next door. Although I have to recommend their iced tea. Tasted all natural and refreshing. We will be returning!!

Wow, this is the best food ever! My family and I visited after seeing on social media that the restaurant might close soon. We ordered the salt and pepper fish, shrimp cakes, orange chicken, shrimp fried rice, and a delicious stew. Everything was incredible; my family and I couldn’t get enough. We’re definitely returning soon. The flavors and the perfect crunch of the fried food were outstanding. The staff made us feel right at home–so welcoming and friendly. One of the servers helped us select dishes and offered great suggestions; I loved every single thing she recommended. I highly recommend you visit Hacienda Heights and enjoy this fantastic food.

Cozy Guangzhou style restaurant. Service is good. The owner will suggest their famous dishes but not everyone can accept her. Prices are reasonable. Sausage clay pot rice is very delicious. Beef Entrails are good despite no bad texture. Overall the food has a light flavor to me but is good to others. Probably come back to try other items in the future.

Finally made it here after seeing the viral videos. The food did not disappoint. We ordered the shrimp cakes, chicken wings, fried cod, lo mein with beef brisket, green beans with pork. We loved it ALL and had plenty to take home after. Not to mention the chicken broth on the side was crazy flavorful and even the iced tea was so delicious. Our server was SO kind and friendly and was very helpful in deciding what to order, even advising best way to heat up our leftovers. Tysm! All the food is made to order and the chef is the owner, so you can really taste the love in the food and service. Looking forward to coming back to try the shredded chicken!

The beef brisket noodle perfectly balancing the tangy and beef flavors that are synonymous with Cantonese cuisine. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite.
Opting for the half chicken dish, we were treated to a delightful presentation enhanced by the aromatic blend of ginger and scallions. The tender chicken skin, which effortlessly melted in our mouths, served as a hallmark of authentic Cantonese culinary expertise. Additionally, the clay pot rice with ribs showcased impeccable timing in its preparation, delivering a perfect balance of crispy and crunchy rice burns.
Tai Ping Sa Choi Kee is a rare gem that manages to seamlessly blend exemplary service with an unwavering commitment to authenticity. It’s not just a restaurant; it’s an experience that transports you to the vibrant streets of Canton with every mouthful. It is an absolute must-visit.

Came here from a tik tok review and it was insanely good!! The salt and pepper fish is really the star. I was floored and wondering how I went my whole life without having it. The chilis with it are 10/10. Perfectly salted, it needs nothing added to it. It’s been a week since my visit and I’m already thinking about going back for that fish. I want to try so much more. The staff is amazing too. the woman who took my order told me to try a piece before I left to eat it crispy, she was right !

Soooo good for authentic Cantonese food! My favorite dishes were the XO sauce rice rolls and the beef brisket noodle soup. The rice rolls were soft in the inside with a slight crispiness from being pan-fried. The beef brisket was tender and the broth had great flavor. Ok and their CHILI OIL. Excellent. I think they make it in-house. It has a nice, roasted chili pepper flavor and definitely packs a punch.
The service was amazing. We called in advance for a party of 7 and they had our table ready right when we walked in. We were treated so kindly by the servers and the food came out quickly. Note that it does take longer for the rice pots and the rice rolls to come out.
Ambience was lively but comfortable. Good for a party of 2 or 12. You can bet I’ll be here the next time my family and I are craving some Cantonese food.

Major selling point of authentic taste, and that promise was mostly delivered.
Three dishes are excellent, better than anywhere else, and will return for more:
Shredded chicken has very good texture and excellent flavor. No ginger dip provided because it’s already mixed in.
Beef offal has sweetbread (pancreas ) , tripe and stomach. Very good flavor and good sauce.
Lamb hotpot is very good to excellent, miso dip will persuade people who don’t like the lamby gamey to love it.
Three are recommended, but similar could be available elsewhere :
Stir fry pork liver has good temperature control resulting in good texture, but the sauce is a little heavy for my taste.
Long beans with minced pork was good to fair.
Hot pot rice was fair. Good flavor but I want more crispy burnt rice at the bottom.
Only dish I don’t recommend is the noodles in Peking sauce. The flavor was off, not what I expected.
Also tried beef offal rice noodles soup. Good to very good. And the serving is huge. Best buy.
The steamed egg white desert is fair to good. Not too sweet.
The chef has a tendency for bigger flavors. Perfect for anyone who does not like blandness. Overall strongly recommended.

Wednesday 10/29/25 Lunch at Tai Ping Sa Choi Kee with my friend Erwin. Ordered the shredded pork gravy style chow fun, yang chow fried rice, and fried garlic chicken wings. Delicious and classic Chinese style with great wok he (charred) flavor.
May and Wendy, mother-daughter team, were friendly, hospitable, and working hard to serve customers. Thank you May & Wendy.
I highly recommend this restaurant. Try it out and see what you were missing in authentic Chinese wok he cooking and foods.
