The trompo from this place is straight gaaaas. I’m from out of town and have been trying different trompo around the Houston area and this is the best one I’ve had so far. I had it the first time the other night and had to come back for lunch the next day. After the 2nd try, I went to another place down the street to try their trompo—place was way more popular and way busier but la Sultana tops it, although that was fire too. Almost forgot to mention their onions and potatoes on the side also the best ones I’ve had so far. Chips while you wait

Never am I in this area but I’ve heard that there is good food spots around. This joint right here was GREAT. Pulled in around noon, no one was there besides myself. Surprisingly, I expected it to be busy. Sat instantly, enough seating area. Started with their complementary chips and salsas. I ordered their 5 tacos with cheese and avocado. The meats were bistec and trompo with a side of horchata. The 5 tacos come with papas and grilled onions. The trompo had a smokey flavor to it which I enjoyed a lot. They’re not STINGY with how much meat they stuff the tacos. Unfortunately I didn’t get to try the bistec for the same reason. Easily full with 4. I wanted to try their frijoles charros but they had just ran out. Our waitress was super sweet and friendly. Not complaints whatsoever. Definitely will return when I am in the area.

Worst experience ever me n my family stopped by on 10 4 25 and waited 40 minutes until my dad asked what’s taking so long then the waiter decided to tell us that they ran out of cheese !!! As we were waiting customers were just walking out .Me n my husband saw a male employee with a back brace wear BLUE GLOVES TO GO TO THE RESTROOM AND HE CAME BACK OUT WITH THE SAME GLOVES ON AFTER HE USED BATHROOM HE WAS EVEN ADJUSTING HIS BELT AS HE WALKED TO THE KITCHEN , AFTER WITNESSING THAT, WE LEFT , I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANY ONE ESPECIALLY WITH CHILDREN. THERES NO SWEET TEA AND THEY DONT PROVIDE TEA SPOONS FOR THE SUGAR PACKETS THEY HAVE. The food is really good and flavorful. Trompo was a little bit too salty. Our waiter was efficient. What I didn’t like is that for 4 people or more they add their own tip and they do not tell you is already added but they do have signage in all the restaurant requesting to be considerate and leave a tip for your waiter. Frankly I just thought it was dishonest. Food was good but not worth leaving a 15 tip for tacos.

Food is the number one priority for restaurants. Let me just start by saying this before I purchased from here I look at the google reviews like any new restaurant I go to. I was so happy and thought I finally found a good Mexican restaurant on the east side. Negative…… I was so disappointed the color of the pico de gallo and the chicken was discolored. I was hoping it would still have some flavor it didn’t. The salsas the frijoles charros and rice were good can’t lie about that . Food at the flea market taste better . Will I stop here again no. But thank you for the service.

We came in here as a random stop while doing something in the area, there were two women working out front, the one who took our order was so sweet, and the food was incredible, I definitely would recommend 🙂
