My birria tacos were delicious! The woman that took our order was sweet and helpful. She gave us great recommendations. My husband had carne asada and grilled chicken tacos. They also had a selection salsas. We tried 3 of the 6, very flavorful. Everything was excellent!

I ordered a chicken burrito a few weeks back and hated it. I thought maybe it was the chicken. I got beef this time and it’s horrible. Tastes like the meat is low quality and poorly seasoned and the beans and rice taste bland. Very leaky as well. I didnt order a wet burrito. Definitely don’t recommend. It didnt have any taste resembling a typical taco truck or restaurant burrito. Ever look forward to a good burrito and then just completely felt scammed due to price and taste. Oh well , on to the next.

This place literally has a chokehold on me, and while there is a location in Livermore, I find that the one in Tracy cannot compare to any other one. Rather, the one in Tracy was honestly better, and really lived up to its hype.

Service: 5/5
The señoritas were really nice and upon taking their order, they asked whether or not we wanted it with jalapeños and cilantros, of which I opted out because I don’t usually eat jalapeños since they’re still too spicy for me… everybody has a personal preference so that’s what’s being put on there.)
Food: 4.5/5
They have a salsa bar where you can get all kinds of sazones — and salsas ranging from mucho picante (really spicy) to un pequeño picante (little spicy). The possibilities are endless. As for their tacos, I got the opportunity to try out their tripe tacos, tacos de lengua, and tacos al pastor. The quality of the meat was very tender, cooked thoroughly, and was not cooked too medium — just the right amount of juiciness needed to put alongside the cilantro and the onions.
Their horchata and jamaica were a little bit watered down — perhaps could have added a little bit more evaporated milk or condensed milk on top of the mixture with the horchata? The Jamaica had a very floral flavor to it — could have added a little bit more cane sugar and what not.

Overall, Tacos la Potranca in Tracy excelled in turning a simple cheap meal into a heartwarming experience. Their exceptional hospitality, combined with delicious food, ensured that I left not only satisfied but eager to return. It’s rare to find a place that makes you feel at home on the first visit, but Tacos la Potranca achieved just that with grace and warmth.

Loved all our dishes here today. I also enjoyed the fresh chips that you help yourself to from the counter. You also get to choose your own sauces to take to the table. Fast and friendly service in a clean setup.

I frequent this taco establishment EVRYTIME I’m in the area, I have eaten here quite a few times and never posted. One thing for sure is consistency, Tacos have been delicious since day 1, Horchata is bomb as well. I usually order Asada, tacos, vampiros or nachos. Their selection of salsa is great and their ‘hot” is actually HOT, frijoles made fresh. Great customer service, always friendly and food is consistently great. Tacos always loaded with da meats!. Highly recommend this spot.

Off the main path, short drive from the Hwy.
This was the BEST street like taco ..ever!
One was “al pastor” which was good, but the other one, stomach tripe, (Buche), was the best meat i ever tasted in a taco…very unique
These are small tacos and you might need some rice and beans to go with it. But i only spent around $6 for two.
The chips and salsa bar were good…simple but with good salsas, all u want chips

I was somewhat excited to try this place after my sister found a TikTok video that made the food look delicious but unfortunately, my experience was far from that.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was uncomfortable. The stares from the older woman sitting at the door and another older lady with black hair in a high ponytail/bun were intense and unwelcoming. It felt more like judgment than hospitality. At one point, my sister simply walked up to politely ask the NICE (only nice person in there) young woman taking orders for a bag, and the lady with the ponytail stopped whatever she was doing and looked at us like we were a bother…. completely unnecessary and disrespectful.

As for the food…it was nothing like what we saw in the video. The fries were soggy, the tacos were falling apart, and the birria didn’t even taste like birra. To make matters worse, when my order was handed to me, I was told the plate was broken: “Be careful, it’s broke,” followed by a shrug and the lady walking off. No offer to just simply give a new plate.

For $56, and a tip I expected at least decent service and food that matched what was advertised. Instead, I ended up throwing it away. Very disappointing overall….

This was my first time visiting this establishment, and I must say that I was very impressed.

The staff were very friendly and the customer service was great. I ordered the Quesabirria tacos. The meat was tender and juicy, and came with cilantro, onion amd melted cheese.

The consome did not have bits of beef in it but was still very flavorful. As always I added some beef from my taco into the consome and also added hot salsa to spice it up to my liking.

The tacos and consome was very tasty and have now topped my own personal list of being among the best that I have had so far.

The restaurant in and of itself, was very clean in appearance and spacious for dining. I will be back to eat there again.

In my opinion, this restaurant is a must try.
