Asada fries were pretty good. All food was good. Salsa was tasty. We got double fajitas and the meat to vegetable ratio was terrible. WAAAAAY too many veggies. Picture shown was after we had eaten the meat and our share of veggies with them. I recommend buying the single portion and adding meat as the double seems to be the same amount of meat with tons of veggies added. That was disappointing. Everything else was good though.

I enjoyed the carne asada fries at Tacos El Tapatio! Highlights were the fries (thin and crispy, not soggy!) and the cheese that was melted throughout the fries, rather than in a blob on top. Also loved the green and red salsas that were provided in squeeze bottles. Only downside was that a tiny taco-sized portion of carne asada came on the fries – for a $20 meal, that was a bit disappointing.

At best, this place is average. It is not bad and the servings were large, but the food was bland and the service was worse. The salsa is watery and lacked any flavor kick at all. Me and my companion had different enchiladas, and while they were adequate, that is the best that can be said about them. They lacked the flavor that makes Mexican food so wonderful. The waiter gave, “I would rather be somewhere else” vibes, which I mean I get, but this is the job you have. He expressed no interest in us or what we thought of the food – an experience other restaurants have spoiled me on I guess.

We love this place. It has hands down the best veggie burritos I have ever tasted in my life (a great vegetarian option!). The chips and salsa are incredible as well. The only thing that could make it better would be to have refried beans instead of black/pinto beans with the meal.

Holy flavor-bomb.
If you like authentic Mexican food, this is the place to go. I got the stuffed carne asada, which is a signature dish for them, and the sauce that it came smothered in was the most flavorful and delicious sauce. It was a little bit spicy, but I’m not good with spice and I did just fine eating the whole plate. Also, if you like nopales, this is the only place in Colorado that I’ve seen that has it. I will definitely be back, it was well worth the over two hour drive.

I got the Steak Fajita Bowl- grilled veggies were delicious, meat was tender, beans and rice were flavorful, and the chips and salsa tasted fresh. Fun outdoor seating area, inviting interior colors, professional service, and clean bathrooms. Solid experience for a solid price. I was pleasantly surprised, and I’m glad to know about this spot.

Tried quite a few items here today and really enjoyed everything. I had the beef taco and chicken tostada along with the beans and rice. I appreciate that each protein had its own distinctive flavor, too often Mexican restaurants flavor everything the same and both were delicious. The beans had really good flavor too. My partner had a chorizo, asada, and a pork taco and all three were great. Because I had to I also tried an octopus taco and it was also great. Definitely will visit here again when I’m in the area. Update, went again today (4-15-22), food very good again, service so-so (server on cell phone)

We could not have loved this place more. Excellent service, even when it got super slammed, and the food was everything we wanted and more. Looks at those heaping plates! The pollo mole was out of this world, and the we could have drunk the salsa from the bowl. Not to mention the epic pothos climbing all the way across the ceiling and the massive spider plant spawning its babies every which way. Chef’s kiss, 10/10 would come back every day of my life. AND my husband left his credit card in the bill book by accident and they had it waiting for us the next day, no worse for wear! Muchas gracias!
