My buddy and I were looking for a good taco place near home. I have driven past this place many times but always on the way somewhere at the time. So my buddy read a review about Tacos El Patron and called me on Saturday to see if I wanted to check it out. WOW, what a fantastic place! Food was outstanding, prices were fair for the excellent quality and taste. Loved the neighborhood feel. The owner and the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, attentive to our needs and we genuinely felt welcomed. THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC…. What was really ironic this place has two sister locations in the Bay Area. When the owner was talking to us, come to find out my buddy, Jeff had eaten at one of the places while traveling out there. What a small world. Don’t be like me and keep driving by. You owe it to yourself to stop in. Place is AWESOME! . Thank you Tacos El Patron. I took some takeout home and my family loved it. We all will be back soon!

**Tacos El Patrón – A Must-Try Hidden Gem in Houston!**

I recently visited Tacos El Patrón in Houston, and wow—what a fantastic find! The food here is so unbelievably good, I almost can’t find the words to explain it. The flavors are bold, authentic, and expertly crafted, making every bite a memorable experience.

The restaurant provides a unique take on traditional tacos by representing different cities—Mexico City, Baja California, and beyond—each taco showcasing a distinct regional flavor. It’s a brilliant concept that brings variety and cultural depth to the menu.

I was recommended the **birria taco** and the **pork belly taco**, and they were so delicious, I had to order two more! The birria was rich and flavorful, while the pork belly had the perfect balance of crispy and tender textures.

Beyond the food, the **service is excellent**, the **cleanliness is impeccable**, and the **atmosphere is warm and welcoming**. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, making the dining experience even better with their exceptional customer service.

If you’re a taco lover—or just someone who appreciates amazing food—Tacos El Patrón is a spot you don’t want to miss. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

The best restaurant I’ve eaten in Houston so far, the food is soooo good, not a single complaint. Even the flan was amazing! My favorite though was the Tortilla Margarita, even though it sounds different it is a must try!!! There are some other flavors I looks forward to trying but that will be my new go to!!

Also need to add the customer service was top notch, the owners were so nice & you could tell they took so much pride in what they did!

We decided to try a new spot for authentic tacos, tacos el patron did not disappoint. The tacos are on point, the sauces given have a spice profile for everyone. We do not have one negative thing to say. The restraunt vibe is nice as well. Don’t forget an aqua fresca, we had the cucumber (pepino) lime. We will be back to try more items off the menu!

The food was 9/10 very good actually! Drinks amazing! Salsa (all 5) were awesome. Queso great! Birria very authentic place to eat. Desserts were good as well. For only 3 ppl servicing the tables they didn’t do so bad.

Service was slow even though the restaurant wasn’t busy on a Thursday night, but the servers were friendly. Food is good and loved that they give you four different salsa options. Lots of options for tacos as well. The ceviche tasted fresh Whoohoo

I decided to give this establishment a try for lunch, and I am pleased to say that it was a wise choice.

I ordered the Tortabirria, and it was simply outstanding. The flavors were exquisite, and the level of spiciness was just right for my palate. However, if you prefer a spicier dish, they provide a variety of sauces that can elevate the heat level to your liking.

I am certain that we will be returning to this establishment in the future.

On my second visit, I opted for the burrito, and it was equally excellent.

I also appreciate the fact that they serve their large drinks in Mason jars and offer a selection of freshly made hot sauces.

This place is slept on and I’m surprised that not many people know about Tacos El Patron. I came here twice this week because I had to show more of my friends about this spot. The inside is cozy and has many paintings/decorations of Frida Kahlo. There’s a good amount of space inside and my friend and I were seated right away. The water came in cute mason jars and the complimentary chips and salsa were great. As for the sauces, there were 4 bottles with different flavors- be careful of one of them because there is a habanero sauce which is super spicy!

I ordered the Birria Taco, Asada, and Lengua while my friend got the Taco de Pescado (Battered fish), Birria, and Carnita. When you order 2 or more tacos, you can get free sides which include Nopales (Cactus), Ceballa Asada (Griled Onion), Rabanos (radishes), and frijoles (beans).
Everything tasted amazing but the star of the show was the Birria Taco. Wow, even without the broth on the side, this taco is so juicy and this place is generous with the amount of beef they put inside. The shell is crispy and the flavor is impeccable. And when dipping the Birria Taco in the broth, words can’t express how delicious every bite was.

Aside from the incredible food and cozy interior, the staff members were so kind. They frequently checked up on my friends and I to make sure our experience here was good and gave good recommendations for food. All in all, I absolutely love Tacos El Patron and this place deserves more recognition!

Came here with a couple people for lunch while out and about. When we walked in the place was prety dead but my friend vouched for the place so we took a seat. Service was kind of slow, a couple people were working but seemed to be busy with other tasks but they brought out chips and salsa and took our orders. I got an agua de pepino and four tacos, with lengua and chicken. Their agua was good but pretty sweet, and the lengua tacos were okay but the texture was just a little chewy. The chicken tacos were better and they have some bomb salsas. Chips and salsa was honestly the highlight of my visit, the green ones and the orange one were delicious!
