Best Mexican food in Indy. Their fajitas with the beans and the Rice is my favorite. Even the guacamole is pretty good. But the best thing about this place are there four homemade hot sauces. Literally the best hot sauces in Indianapolis and they’re not crazy spicy they’re just delicious. And it’s a cool restaurant right next to the AMC. And they have like six different homemade Mexican drinks in those fountain things. And they have homemade Mexican ice cream. Definitely a hidden gym. I’ve been here about 10 times maybe more and it’s been great every time.

If you’re a fan of bold flavors and generous portions, Taco Don Pablos is a must-visit! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and attentive—I’d rate it a solid 9/10. Our food arrived within a respectful time frame, piping hot and fresh, which is always a great sign of a well-run kitchen.

I ordered the Quesabirria street tacos, and they did not disappoint. Each taco was packed with flavor and impressively large in portion—definitely satisfying for any appetite. The meat was tender, the cheese perfectly melted, and the dipping consommé added that extra savory punch.

This spot has definitely earned a return visit from us, and I’d confidently recommend it to any Mexican or Tex-Mex food lover looking for a delicious and reliable dining experience.

My wife got chicken fajitas, i got texas fajitas, food was delicious, my wife is good, i got diarrhea with stomach aches. Was about to write this review while sitting on white knight, but was too busy, if you know…
Maybe i’m just not lucky enough. Well, eat on your own risk, but i think i will avoid fajitas in general for a while, just in case.

Tacos Don Pablo is one of our families favorite places to eat when we don’t feel like cooking.

I do sometimes wish they had a larger menu but I think they’ve kept it really nice options and high quality food.

Their tacos Al pastor are delicious and almost as good as when my husband makes it at home.
That is what I usually order when we visit. I always ask for extra pineapple on mine.

One of our other favorites is the Birria. I don’t think it’s on the menu but we’ve ordered it as a big bowl before and it was good. Not just the birria tacos but Birria served the authentic way as a stew with cilantro & onions. This visit we only ordered a side of the consume.

My only critique with their tacos is the tacos de lengua. I prefer my lengua fried after it’s cooked to make it a little crisper. Sometimes when you order these tacos at TDP they make the tortillas a little soggy because the meat is still wet. That could be solved if they’d fry the meat after it’s cooked but they’re still good. You just have to eat them quickly.

The kids meal was good. The beans tasted homemade instead of canned. The taco was a good portion for our kid. We ordered the side of consume and shared it with her so she could dip her taco in it.

Overall though we had a great experience like always!

I absolutely loved my experience here! Just happened to be in the area and hungry, of course. Got our usual street tacos and carne asada torta. But first came the chips and salsa! Obviously house made, and THE BEST I’ve had yet. Was a little disappointed the torta didn’t come with beans, but took care of that and ordered a side. Once I slathered that on the bread with the carne asada, OMG that made it. The side of beans won’t go to waste. They are delicious and perfectly seasoned. Portions were incredibly generous, and the price was perfect. Oh, and our server was great! Very attentive and she was very kind.

This is the BEST Mexican food in Indianapolis. So flavorful and the portions are large too, especially for the price! Their take-out is just as good as dining in – you can’t go wrong!

As a Mexican, I am very, very picky about going to a Mexican restaurant, especially coming from the Chicago Land area into Indianapolis and seeing the local food scene.

Hats off to Don Pablo as his restaurant met my expectations with his delicious food. You get complimentary chips and salsa, the chips were hot and fresh and the salsa was full of flavors. We started off with the Guacamole Casero, which was unique as it has shredded lettuce and tomatoes mixed into it. It was delicious, however my personal preference would have been wanted it to have a little more salt and lime juice.

We ordered 6 tacos and an order of the quesabirria tacos- we over estimated how hungry we were so this review is solely on what we ate.

Tacos de Chorizo: this was an instant hit for me, it reminded me of tacos back home! Full of flavor, consistency in the chorizo and not overwhelming with cilantro and onions. Paired it with their orange salsa which was straight fire.

Tacos de Camarón: The shrimp were cooked with a fajita seasoning and were not over cooked which can be a common issue. They were medium in size and were equally distributed within the taco. My husband really enjoyed them.

Quesabirria tacos: hands down the best ones we’ve had out here in Indiana. They were not over saturated in any oil, had a perfect crunch, queso was on point and the consomé was delicious and did not lack flavor. The rice, did its job, but personally I’m more of a white rice gal with my meals.

Looking forward to having the others later tonight!

Customer service needs some work, we were only checked in on our server once and it was when we were at the end of our meal. However she was helpful early on into our meal and brought us extra tortilla chips when we got our guacamole, which did not come with any additional chips, simply the 4 in the molcajete.

Overall a good experience and ever in Plainfield, I’d stop by again.

I will say one of the things I was not fully a fan of was being charged .75 per cup of salsa to take some home with the rest of my tacos. I was surprised to see that on my receipt and was told “we don’t make the prices, I’m just ringing it in”. Which to an extent I understand, however I would have used the salsa there if I had finished all of my tacos. But that is very much a me thing and the way I think about things.

Service was good until I spotted a roach crawling on the bench across from me. I pointed it out to the server and she killed it with a ketchup bottle that will probably be placed on someone’s table to use. Video Attached.

I had heard some chatter how great this place was so had to give it a try myself. Wanted to start off with a frozen margaritas and NO FROZEN DRINKS….so they got me having a fountain coke – strike 1. They did bring me complimentary Chips and Salsa – Very standard chips and standard canned style salsa – nothing stand out (like Chuys) but can’t complain because after all they are free. For the meal I decided on having a couple of street tacos (shredded beef) with onions/ salantra 2.99ea Flour tortilla tacos were good however prices seemed a bit steep for the size – however quality hit the spot. I still prefer Salsa Verde or even 3 Amigos on Taco Tuesdays!
This did not make my return often list and can’t honestly say I would tell my followers to go here…..Only if your set on Mexican and are close because this place is barely being rated a 4 out of 5.

This place never disappoints.
Best place for quick bites with small groups.
Compared to all the Mexican restaurants in Plainfield, The taste and its richness is still there and it’s reasonable with a price point too. Must visit the place. Highly recommend: Vegetarian: Tortas, quesadilla, chimichanga, burrito.
chicken street taco and gringa style.
