Social Profile:

Tacoma’s No1 Fried Rice and Sushi was established in 1996 by us John and In Kim (owners). Although there have been previous names such as King’s Deli and King’s Wok and Teriyaki. We revised our restaurant name due to a customer who indicated “You have the best fried rice in Tacoma.” Immediately after this, we changed our name to Tacoma’s No.1 Fried Rice. In 2021, due to the generosity of the previous owner, we were able to buy the building and expand our kitchen area over 1200sqft. We will continuously strive to provide a clean environment for our customers. In conjunction with the expansion of the restaurant premises, we were able to expand new menu items such as Sushi to provide a diverse range of options for our customers.

Tacoma’s No. 1 Fried Rice absolutely lives up to its name—and then some. This is the kind of spot that proves you don’t need bells and whistles when the food is done right.

The standout for me was the Teriyaki Chicken. Perfectly cooked, tender, and generously portioned, it strikes that ideal balance of sweet and savory without being overpowering. The sauce clings to every bite, glossy and flavorful, making it impossible to put the fork down. It’s comfort food elevated by care and consistency.

Portion size deserves a special mention, this is a good-sized serving that leaves you satisfied without feeling heavy, making it a great value for the quality and freshness you’re getting. Everything tastes freshly made, from the chicken to the sides, with no shortcuts or afterthoughts.

The experience is rounded out by the friendly staff, who make you feel genuinely welcome the moment you walk in. Quick service, warm smiles, and attention to detail go a long way, and they deliver on all fronts.

If you’re in Tacoma and craving something comforting, flavorful, and reliably delicious, No. 1 Fried Rice is a must-visit. Simple, fresh, and incredibly satisfying—this is the kind of place you’ll find yourself coming back to again and again. ✨

Tacoma No 1 Fried Rice = Tacoma No 1 fill you up! Huge portions. Love the option for a large size when you have a hungry group. 4 of us ate until we were miserable, packed up leftovers and ate again! It is a bit on the pricier side for teriyaki but having leftovers helps justify it.

Gyoza was crispy (even on delivery). Garlic chicken may have outdone the General Tso which is a statement. Teriyaki sauce was nice and thick and plenty of it. Look forward to dine in to see how crispy the chicken is fresh

The shrimp fried rice nothing was right about it. The shrimp was big and they were like pre-cooked shrimps that they got out of a store I can tell. The rice the texture of the rice was not right. I had seafood from other places that I live Chicago, Florida, Iowa even when I went to Vegas. The pre-cook huge shrimps that I thought was carrots until I opened the box and then it was just the shrimp. Fried rice was too fishy. I will go back to try other food on the menu, but the shrimp fried rice and the eggrolls was like too chewy and they were not egg rolling for me. I’ll try something else next time, but I just thought yuck. And I am a picky eater, but I had I’ve been eating Chinese food all my life. But I didn’t like I didn’t like the shrimp fried rice and the egg rolls. And I think yeah I just I just didn’t like it. I’m sorry, but I will go back and try other things on the menu. Sorry. The place is very clean and the cashiers of front seem to be very nice. I think I would feel very comfortable sitting in they eat there it look like a very comfortable place to have a nice meal.

Nice establishment and great food. Good portions and excellent taste! I love their fried rice… though, the options are a bit on the pricey side. The shrimp was not cooked all the way. I still love the friend rice though.

Had this place for the first time last week and have already been back 3 times! It’s seriously that good. So many options and great portion size for what you’re paying. Best honey garlic chicken I’ve ever had and everything is always so fresh. Relaxing atmosphere and fast service.

We used to come here very frequently years ago and it was always great. The owners were very kind to us and the food was fantastic with massive portions.

Moved away, but came back for the first time in a long time and the whole place has been renovated to look a lot nicer. There are new owners/staff now and they are extremely nice. Portions are still gigantic and the food is still the best.

Wife seen this place on social media and so we decided to give it a try after visiting Ruston Way. Restaurant was busy when we walked in and had an extensive menu. After deciding what we were eating, we sat down and it seems the food began to come out before we could even get settled. Serving sizes were massive. Flavor was plentiful, and service was attentive. My teriyaki chicken was a bit cold is the only complaint I have.

My family and I had a wonderful dinner at Tacoma’s No1 Fried Rice, which is more than just a fried rice place. They have a variety of dishes, including Mongolian Beef, sushi, LA ribs, and more. We ordered the LA ribs, which were tender and juicy, the fried rice, which was flavorful and filling, the Mongolian beef, which was tender and sweet, and the sushi, which was fresh and delicious. The portions were huge and the price was reasonable. The service was fast and friendly, and the restaurant was clean and cozy. We enjoyed our meal and had a great time together. This is a perfect place for a family dinner, especially if you love fried rice and chicken. We will definitely come back again.

The food was amazing, and their portions are HUGE. I was afraid that the amount of dishes I ordered would not be enough, but when they brought our order, I realized we would need to go boxes. I was very satisfied with this place.

This place is great! Food was amazing and well worth the price for how much you get. Service was very fast and friendly. We got a small order of the spicy chicken (there was 2x the chicken shown in the photo, it was like a mound lol) and 2 bento dinners, which you can mix and match what you want for the main entrees. 10/10 will be back!
