We ordered:
-Carne Asada fries
These were delicious! They were missing a little something though. Maybe some beans would have completed the meal. 8/10
-Queso Tacos taco , 1 chicken and 1 asada
These were so good!! The fried queso made the taco very delicious.
I would say the meat is missing a bit of flavor.
8/10
-1 street taco, chicken
Good taco but again I feel like the meat needed a bit more flavor.
8/10
-Green salsa,
unfortunately the green salsa was a bit bitter to my taste. Perhaps a more fresh taste would have made it delicious. 5/10
-chips and Guacamole
The Guacamole was spot on delicious
The chips needed a bit more salt but overall good and crunchy
8/10
-watermelon agua fresca
This was delicious. It tasted like jolly ranchers. Though I do love it, I would have enjoyed a more authentic mexican watermelon agua fresca 9/10
The servers and cashiers were nice and informative. I do appreciate that they spoke both spanish and english. I would say we received great service. We also received our food right away.
10/10
The ambience:
This place surprised me ! The aesthetic and colors were fancy and nice. I fell in love with the style. There were nice paintings, wall art and mirrors.
This place looked so nice, though it might need some touch up, cleaning or new tables (with the paint chipping on the tables). 8/10
In the pictures, that was my dry 4 bits o chicken tacos, nachos that are supposed to have no guacamole and are in a puddle of sour cream and that guacamole taco you see was supposed to be a shrimp taco. I got 2 whole shrimp in there but yay for more avocado.
On the plus side the carne asada and suadero are still good and their bar program and drinks are still solid. Def still a good spot to grab a drink if you’re close by but to eat? Nah way too many better places not just in Vegas/Henderson but even within a 5 mile radius.
I don’t usually go to this end of the city but we were making a visit and I wanted to show my wife an old favorite. She was impressed as well and thought it was delicious. The food is a good value we ended up getting nachos, several micheladas, several vampiros and an elote, and even with leaving a high tip it was still around $60.
We got really lucky and our bartender / server was named Audrie. I would say she was probably the best bartender that I have had in years ..maybe ever? She was extremely knowledgeable about all the food, the drinks, the history of the place, very friendly and funny. If I was a restaurant owner I would beg her to work at my place.
Anyways, I really like to rate places on value. Just because the food tastes great I don’t think it’s necessarily a five-star if the price is super high. That’s just fair value then. But this place is great. The price is fair and the food is extraordinary. You leave feeling like you got your money’s worth and then some.
A friend recommended this spot, so we decided to check it out for dinner. They have a self-serve condiment and sauce bar which by the time we finished loading up on sauces, radish, and lime, our food was ready.
Cochinita Pibil Sope ($6): This was my first time trying sope. It’s a fried corn shell “sandwich” filled with cheese, your choice of protein, onion, cilantro, and salsa. The cochinita pibil is a tangy, slow-roasted pork. You can really taste the corn in the sope shell which changes the overall flavor. It was interesting to try, but I’m not sure if I would go for this combo again.
Vampiro Al Pastor ($6): A vampiro is a fried corn tostada “sandwich” with cheese, your choice of protein, onion, cilantro, and salsa. The tostada was too crispy—borderline hard. The al pastor wasn’t bad, but I prefer Taco El Gordo’s version.
Chicharron Street Taco ($3.25): Fried pork skin in green chile sauce. One of the best street tacos here.
