Taco Stop is a family-owned and family-run restaurant proudly serving authentic Mexican food to South Milwaukee and surrounding communities since 2016. What began as our first location has grown to two welcoming restaurants in South Milwaukee and Elm Grove, Wisconsin. All of our food is made fresh from scratch using traditional recipes and quality ingredients. I like this place, for where it is from where I live. I finally gave them a try, and then I tried them again. The food is good for the most part and I honestly think the prices are good but, WHOA….. is that red sauce spicy. That’s WAY too much heat. And I like spicy. And honestly I didn’t remember it being THAT spicy from the first time, and this time. Those enchiladas were almost not edible. Their carnitas are juicy but you know, just carnitas. I like the al pastor a lot, it’s super good. The other thing is they do have a ton of options. You could totally make a “taco bell” taco if you want. My neighbor is an elderly dude with no teeth, so having ground beef is cool. He really enjoys that. HUGE DROP OF THE BALL THOUGH when you didn’t give us ANY of our salsas with our 2nd order. I consider that a foul. All in all I enjoy this place, but it isn’t THAT much above average for me to go higher than this.

The food was absolutely delicious. I got Barbacoa and carnitas chimichangas and a side of refried beans. I guage whether or not the food is going to be good based on how the refried beans taste and they were DELICIOUS. Not a bland thing on the menu. The chips and salsa were plentiful (albeit the salsa was REALLY spicy) but the chips were fresh and delicious as well. Reasonably priced for the quality of food. 10/10 recommend.

We are regular customers at this location but over time communication has been an issue, orders wrong. Received food with a pile of hair in it. We requested a manager to call us about this matter. it took 4 days for a manager to take up the matter and when the call was returned, the woman who called was not a manager and said not their problem, they all wear hair nets. Being regular customers and their concern of the issue was unimportant, I would find a new Mexican food place to eat, there is no shortage of them
Update: So to be clear, we called on Friday and was told we had to wait for the manager to respond. No response from manager until we chased them down on TUESDAY. If food is your business and someone has a serious issue with it, if it mattered, someone would have reached out to us right away. We would not have even got to this point but still did not get a manager just received a refund from worker with out a call from owner or manager. But the manager responds to my google review within two hours and not so much as an apology once form anyone. Instead if you read the response below and ALL other reviews, its like a 16 year girl with a Instagram account responding and placing blame elsewhere. Facts are, food should NEVER leave a facility without inspecting it close for HAIR in it. We loved the food, thought the food was delicious as why we ordered all the time. Over recent months we have had minor issues with wrong orders but not worth a complaint. I see the responses for the positive reviews, no one thanks or responds positively to those reviews such as a thank you, just acts like it is expected but EVERY negative review is not their fault. Its too bad if this is really the owner/manager responding to the reviews because being wrong is okay and sometimes mistakes happen. But to not be clear and make sure everyone will try harder to assure their customers they wont allow this to happen again says enough on its own. First impressions….clean and easy menu. Not to much stuff. I smelt bug spray by the door. Food is not good. My husband ordered the green enchiladas; he scored them 5/10. My steak torta was not good. The sour cream tasted old. I gave my torta to my husband because he don’t throw away food. He gave it 5/10; I gave it 2/10.

Don’t waste your money. Low quantity food and skimpy with the toppings. $11 nachos were a huge pile of chips with a thin layer of toppings. Only one small sliver of avocado. The side of rice and beans were hot to the touch but cold in the center. Rice was not fully cooked and clumped together. They really cut corners here, and it shows. Azteca food truck is up the block. Go there instead. AZTECA ALSO HAS A LOCATION AT 901 Milwaukee Ave, South Milwaukee, WI 53172 if you don’t do food trucks.

This is the WORST Mexican food I have Ever had… I just did some simple enchiladas that lit My mouth on fire If you are into that, this is the place for you… Next I tried the Tacos and they actually lacked flavor, I’m not sure if it wa because My taste buds were on fire??? Or just because it really had no flavor, but for sure, I will not be back.

It was a little more pricey than I expected. It should have an extra star on Google because of prices. Mexican style beef tacos and chicken tacos with the works were very tasty and the perfect size for me. Hands down best tortilla chips I’ve ever eaten at Mexican restaurant. Guac was good too. I have a sensitive palate, so even mild salsa was a little hot for me, but real good nonetheless. Young girl who waited on us was very sweet and soft spoken which sometimes is a good thing! Great customer service!!
