Founded in 1961 with a vision to popularize Mexican cuisine in North Dakota, Taco Shop has been serving Fargo-Moorhead for over half a century now. From burritos, tacos and enchiladas to tostadas, grinders, fried ice cream, and more, we have something for everyone. We are located in North Fargo and South Fargo for your convenience. We’re glad to state that we’ve been one of the longest-operating restaurants in the FM area. The original hot sauce and taco meat recipes served today are the same as they were nearly 60 years ago. Needed a quick bite before the MSU boys basketball game. This was close to campus so we tried it.
The food was very bland, Very.
We ordered tacos and chimichangas.
I dont think I would spend my money here again. However,staff was very friendly and helpful with answering menu questions.
Maybe we should have ordered grinders instead.
They do have a drive-thru and lobby was decorated nicely for the holidays.

Hard to beat Taco Shop! Their menu may not be expansive, but they are good example of how a smaller menu is a better menu.
Everything’s good, but the Southwest Scrambler burrito is my personal favorite and it goes great with one of their Jarritos sodas!

Ordered 4 soft and 2 hard shells got home and got the opposite. Meat was really bland. Hard shells were all broken and soggy. The guy who answered was really rude and said “can u deal with her” to the manager who refunded the 2$ difference. Taco shop used to taste great and this was a terrible waste of money and time.

Placed a phone order and picked it up and was told I had to pay a 15% tip. Didn’t know I was required to tip. Probably won’t be ordering there again. Food was great though and was made quite fast.

The food is great and I eat here often but I was not impressed today after I placed an order in the drive through and waited maybe 20 mins which is unusual because they are typically quick but I realized what was taking so long- one of the employees in the back parking lot revving up the engine on some old car- then go back into the store and bagged my food so I could leave- what are you doing guy

The Taco Shop is a cheap eats eatery classic in Fargo. It’s a small local fast Mexican food type place. The food including larger entrees, like an enchilada,is all under 10 dollars. The food is good here it’s fresh and very clean place always good service I have always thought of it as good North Dakota Mexican food and nothing here, at least to my taste, is super spicy. I tend to order the same things here although their menu has breakfast burritos, grinders many different things. I like their tostada with cheese and I also had their Hawkeye taco named after FM Red Hawks Mascot. The food delish and fast friendly service. I like how crispy and fresh their hard shell tacos are. I love going here and happy with my visit every time— also it’s cheap.

UPDATE 4-11-25: I finally got a chance to go back. This time I got the chicken enchilada plate. Absolutely delicious! I am officially making this my go to place for Thursdays if my next visit is as tasty and filling.
2-7-25 Most of the meals are under $10 for something truly filling. This time I went for the deluxe nach platter. With every penny as I had left overs for later.
07-16-24We spent about $34 for a meal and a half. We got full and had some left over to eat later that evening. Everything was so tasty. 10/10 will be returning here.

Food is excellent! We stop everytime in Fargo. If we don’t eat dinner we always get a fried ice cream!

Never had any issues with this location. Staff is friendly, and the food is amazing. Quick service and honestly never had any issues with my orders. Solid place to stop in and eat, or grab something to-go, easy 10/10 from me.
