Family-owned and run. They’re using mama’s recipes and that lady can cook! Found out after lunch that their special on the day we visited was mama’s recipe pork ribs in what looked like a pretty complex sauce. Lesson learned – ask about the daily special when you come here.
About the food. I actually managed to take a few pictures and everything was delicious! I really loved the carne asada and birria but best bite goes to the shrimp queso taco. Like a quesadilla but smaller and with ship covers in a beautifully flavorful sauce.
Great little taco shop!
If you haven’t tried them your missing out.
Limited seating but there is some small seating outdoors. Parking is sufficient.
The building is decorated awesome and inside just feels comfortable. Cleanliness is off the charts, I thought they had just opened this place with how well everything was kept up.
The food was made fresh to order and you can clearly tell they take time preparing all ingredients and not something just taken from a box. Even the flour tortillas are made fresh and brought in from a sister company bakery. Top notch.
Fresh salsa options and spicy toppings with lots of other name brand hot sauces to add.
Amazing service and amazing food. If you’re thinking about trying this place out then stop thinking and do it. You won’t be disappointed.
The menu itself deserves a mention because of how detailed it is; it’s big but not trying to do too much like other Mexican restaurants and very descriptive even including alcohol/drink pairings. It’s obvious someone put a ton of thought into it and this restaurant as a whole. I ordered the tostada de ceviche and quesotaco and my mother ordered the torta cubana. The ceviche was bright and fresh and composed of shrimp, cucumber, peppers and corn if I remember correctly.. the quesotaco with your choice of meat was also really good and simple. The torta was massive, as tortas usually are.. this thing was on a different level though. I’m pretty sure it had every type of ham/pork on it except for the snout. The Milanese cutlet in it was the only part I tried but it was really good.
I legitimately can’t wait to come eat here again.
I had started visiting Tako N Madres back when they were working on remodeling the building, and were still operating as their food truck in their new spot on weekends only, and once they finished the building remodel and opened up inside (with a specific brunch menu on weekends too), I have visited a handful of times for dine-in and carryout.
It is delicious food, especially everything I’ve had for brunch so far with their new brunch menu. I’ve had their Skillet and Huevos Rancheros, both delicious! Eggs are cooked exactly as requested, salsas are packed with flavor, fresh avocado, and delicious seasoned potatoes. My wife loves getting their tres leches pancakes, and our toddler loves food from both our sweet and savory dishes. It’s a great place to take our extended family for weekend brunch. Most of all I love their delicious drink options with huge generous portions. I will always get one of their different horchatas or agua frescas (especially the hibiscus). The hot chocolate and coffee is great as well. If you haven’t stopped in for brunch or lunch/dinner, you are missing out! Great Mexican food, at great prices (especially the street tacos which are a steal).
