Taco Mundo was really good! My favorite part of the restaurant was definitely the staff, and by far! I mainly interacted with three (3) different staff members, and they were all so nice, helpful, and welcoming! I wish that every restaurant’s staff was that customer-service focused.
I’ll also say that I got a margarita, which wasn’t the greatest margarita I’ve ever had, but which was definitely above average relative to the ones I’ve gotten at similar Mexican restaurants. The chips and salsa also seemed to be fresher than other said Mexican restaurants, and my friend said that their food was pretty good as well. As for my food, I didn’t necessarily love it, but it wasn’t terrible either. I asked for a cheese quesadilla, and they gave me a chicken-and-cheese quesadilla instead. I understand that this was just a simple mistake, but it was kind of disappointing nonetheless. In addition, the tacos that I got were good and of high quality, but I do wish that they had been a little bit warmer by the time they got to my table.
All-in-all, Taco Mundo was a really solid Mexican restaurant with good-enough food, but with customer service definitely serving as its strong suit.

While the decor at Taco Mundo is undeniably beautiful, the dining experience for our party of 11 fell short of expectations. Our server seemed quite distracted, and the menu felt surprisingly limited. We waited nearly 30 minutes for our entrees, only to be disappointed by the quality. The portions are significantly smaller than what you’d find at other Mexican restaurants, and both the presentation and flavor were lacking. Given the price point and the prime location, the overall value just isn’t there.

Food was awful. Absolutely awful. It’s the worst of Tex Mex where chilli powder and cumin are used in such an absurd amount that they overpower even the possibility of any other flavor. The queso dip was literally a block of Velveeta that turned back into an undippable blob in minutes. Chips were salty. Got an upcharge for mushrooms for literally four slivers of mushroom. The churros were awful too. Description said you’d get Mexican chocolate for dipping, no. You get them drenched in cinnamon sugar but way more cinnamon than anything and completely smothered in the cheapest chocolate. Awful. I’ve never left food behind or desert but both were not fully eaten. I didn’t drink alcohol at this visit so I can’t judge them on their drinks. Service was nice and the atmosphere is nice so if I dare go back it’ll be alcohol only. Oh and before I forget, it’s slightly overpriced for the terrible quality of food received.

If I could give less than this, I absolutely would. Between the hair in the food, the trash in my margarita glass along with the dead mosquito I will never be back. When the waiter informed the manager about the hair on my daughter’s nuggets you would have thought she would have come over and apologize…she didn’t. Then comes my drink with a dead mosquito and trash in the bottom of my glass. At this point, I request to see the manager. She came to the table with excuses about us having fruit flies in South Carolina and them using black salt in the drinks, hence the reason for the trash in the glass. 1. )This was a mosquito, not a fruit fly, 2.) On the menu my margarita didn’t come with black salt or any of the other trash in my glass; therefore, none of it should be served with my drink. Absolutely never again!
P.S. The waiter Ali was great, once he finally learned he was our waiter. The service rating is not a reflection of him.

I ordered queso and chicken and received not even half full bowl. When I ordered I made sure to say to fill it up because this has happened to me before however the hostess fixed the problem by having them redo it because she also saw it was a small portion. Today a different hostess stated she would get her manager never looked or anything the manager came out with rice bowls and told me the chicken portion was correct again without even looking at it.

Just so happen to pop into Taco Mundo on a whim, on a Thursday evening the first week of July.
Not knowing what to expect after our original plans had to be abruptly re-routed, we figured you can’t really go wrong with Margs & Tacos.
Needless to say we hit the jackpot on this random whim.
Upon entering the restaurant is so spacious with ample seating, we were immediately greeted and seated by staff. Our sever was Mariah C. and she was just as lovely and bubbly as can be. In a very enjoyable and genuine way not annoying at all.
Please note if you think the margaritas are strong and you might be seeing double you are… Mariah is a twin and yes they both work there. It was a little chuckle we all shared when the Margs started to hit.
We opted to get all shareable items…
1 Pitcher Casa Margarita
2 Mundo Wings (8)
1 El Mundo Salad Grilled Shrimp
1 Street Taco Chicken (3)
1 Guacamole
Both my sister and I, enjoyed everything we ordered. The margaritas were perfect and both the salsa and the guacamole were a hit. The wings were both well seasoned and cooked to perfection. A good wing can always stand alone without any sauces and the Mundo Wings did just that. The El Mundo Salad with grilled Shrimp was lite and refreshing yet very filling. We shared it because we both wanted to try a few items, but acknowledged we could’ve order the salad and been satisfied. The only items that needed a little extra love was the street tacos, however a little salsa and hot-sauce helped elevate the flavor profile for us.
To be honest the food and service was great but what made Taco Mundo a hit and a spot both my sister and I said is must on my next visit was Ida/Ayda (I forgot to ask the correct spelling of her name). Needless to say she was amazing, as a fellow NYer we just clicked and she really spoke our “same language”. It was so refreshing to come across someone so cool and relatable.
We really enjoyed our experience at Taco Mundo.
Just A Note:
The Casa Margarita Pitchers are $18 for Thirsty Thursdays.

What an absolutely great experience! From the moment we walked in, our server was not only friendly and personable but truly on top of her game, making us feel like VIPs. The food was simply divine—I indulged in two tacos that blew my taste buds away! The Asada taco was delightfully savory, while the Hawaiian chicken taco exceeded all expectations with its burst of flavor and the perfect pineapple salsa complementing every bite. My meal was rounded off with classic beans and rice, and my friends raved about the innovative bowls they tried. I can’t wait to return, and I wholeheartedly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a memorable and mouthwatering dining adventure!

I love the location, the Vista is awesome day or night. The atmosphere is great inside as well. Well decorated and inviting, the inside of the restaurant is just a nice to place to be. The service we received from Mikail (spelling) was nothing short of amazing!! He was ultra pleasant, very patient as we explored the menu, and throughout our time there was very attentive. The food was good but honestly nothing life changing. The Hawaiian Chicken Taco was enjoyable, the Shrimp taco was tasty, the street corn was really good but the dipping taco was a bit disappointing despite being visually so appealing. For me it was like I met my taco hero and it just didn’t quite live up to the hype. The appetizers were good. Give it a shot, the experience on a lunch date was enjoyable even if the food on our first visit didn’t blow us away.

First time visit since the change from Liberty Taproom. We came soon after the opened on a Sunday just before noon. We were seated promptly. The establishment has a great new vibe and theme and was really enjoyable. We were served by Elle, who brought us our waters and chips and salsa to start. I personally was not a fan of the chips being brought out in a small paper bag. Other tables were being brought theirs on a larger tray, so I’ll chalk that to not having a bunch of trays available. We started with the frozen margarita flight, which was decent. It really didn’t seem like there was any amount of alcohol in the drink themselves. As for the main order, I had 2 of the specialty tacos. The surf and turf taco was really bland, but the grilled fish taco was really good. The girlfriend had the 2 taco platter. She also had a bland experience with the surf and turf taco and also did not enjoy the Hawaiian chicken taco. I also found it really strange that the rice and beans were mixed together in a bowl. Honestly, almost 50 bucks for the experience was not worth it.

Absolutely loved this place!!! We went on the 4th of July and there weren’t many people there but I’m sure it is on and popping any other time! That being said we had an AMAZING time! The staff were amazing, especially Ayda! Her energy and vibe were awesome! Several managers checked in to make sure we were good and it felt real genuine!
The food was good. We ordered a Taco Platter with a Cauliflower, Grilled Fish, and a Bang Bang shrimp Taco, Fajitas, guacamole, and a El Gallo Loco Margarita. All of our food came to the table piping hot and fresh! The chips came nice and hot in a paper bag! They were our favorite and we ended up pigging out on them!
My only complaint is that the rice in the rice and beans was not cooked all the way. I kept chewing hard pieces. I did tell the manager and she brought me out a fresh bowl to go! It was good!
The real star of the show was the Key Lime Pie, I ordered to go! Oh my goodness!! The crust was thick and delicious and it was super creamy with subtle and balanced sweetness and tartness! Will definitely visit again!
