The mesa burrito with al pastor and the fish taco were truly exceptional, standing out as some of the finest of their kind I’ve ever tasted. The mole sauce was phenomenal, adding a rich and complex layer of flavor. Everything on the salsa bar was definitely a great addition too. I would eagerly return to explore more of their menu offerings.

I was recommended by my best friend and now I’ve come back with my aunt and she’s telling her best friend about this place. it’s *that* good. fresh, authentic, DELICIOUS. the portions are so generous so bring your appetite! parking is limited and this place gets busy during peak times so come early if you want to grab a spot to sit on the spacious covered patio.

Came here for the delicious food. Service and food is so good! Problem was when I got verbally assaulted by a homless man. The city of costa mesa need to get their act together. This man was sitting at the tables in the outdoor fenced off seating area. The employees knew it. This homless guy was insane. My family shouldn’t have to worry about homless people inside a private business. The fact the staff didn’t have the man removed is beside me. We’ve been eating here for years but after this incident we will never come back.

Are you looking for cold tacos that cost $4.50 that are barely filled with tough, chewy carne asada? Do you like your refried beans to taste like canned chilli? Then this is the taco place for you! How this place has a 4.5 star review is beyond me. This is the most whitewashed Mexican food I’ve ever tried to choke down. Nothing authentic about this place and crazy overpriced for the amount and quality of the food you get.

The og from Ivan’s empire. I went here out of a convenience and nostalgia when I was at the beach. The food is still great although obviously the prices have gone up since last time I was there but that’s across the board across the whole country. I recommended carnitas burrito or the fish burrito. The steak burrito was good and all, but the meat was very chunky and not cut, so basically, when I took a bite, I got the whole meat all at once and that was not pleasant. I still love that they have their salsa bar, thats always top notch as well as the vegetables (escabeche). In addition to the prices of having gone up significantly, the quantities have decreased a bit. The burritos feel a little bit smaller than they used to be, and I’ll let you be the judge, I got four burritos, and the total came out to $62. Thats steep. The vibe is still og, but the prices are not, would ai come back. For sure, but just have to watch the spend.

We were really hoping this would become our new go-to spot, and the staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which is why this review is so disappointing. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was far from authentic and simply unacceptable for the price point.
I ordered the Lobster Burrito, priced at $35. While the portion of lobster meat was generous, it tasted frozen and cardboard-like,definitely not fresh and certainly not worth the premium cost. My husband had the Chilaquiles with “steak.” He found the chilaquiles themselves to be completely flavorless, and only managed to eat the steak portion. Our son’s experience was just as bad; he wouldn’t touch his chicken tenders and only ate the rice from his dad’s plate.
Even the sides were poor. The guacamole clearly tasted like it came from a pouch, loaded with vinegar instead of being made fresh. After spending over $100 for our family of three, the only thing we were able to consume were our drinks. We ended up throwing away nearly all of our meal. The friendly service couldn’t make up for the poor quality and lack of flavor. We won’t be returning.

Have been a long time customer. Always deelish choices. One of my faves is the Mesa burrito, requested wet, and with added salsa and cilantro, and washed down with Sandia (watermelon) aqua fresca… enormous serving and a comp refill on the drink!!!

Over $25 for a burrito and a taco. I get that this place is “healthy and authentic”, but neither did it seem healthy nor authentic. It mostly just seem expensive to my wallet, and frankly you can get much better food in Costa Mesa, especially Mexican food. Let alone for a much better price. Do they have some interesting and unique options on the menu? somewhat. But overall, I would say you should take your business elsewhere. The staff is friendly though.
