As someone who was genuinely excited to introduce my group to what I thought was a beloved Oklahoma classic, this visit to Taco Mayo was nothing short of a nightmare.
We came in as a large group — six teens and two adults — and, despite placing our orders one at a time under the same ticket, things initially seemed to go well enough that I even left a tip. Big mistake.
The orders came out wrong — not slightly off, but significantly. When we brought this to the staff’s attention, instead of correcting the issue, we were told we had to pay more for their mistake. No apology, no courtesy — just a new tap on top of our 90.00 tab
As for my own meal (this whole visit was my idea, out of pure nostalgia), I ordered simple bean burritos. They were made incorrectly. I politely asked for them to be remade — willing to pay if necessary — and was flatly refused by both the manager and line staff.
The service? Rude and dismissive. The food? Incredibly underwhelming. Small portions, sloppily prepared, old original sauce . It wasn’t just disappointing — it was borderline inedible.
Don’t come here hoping for nostalgic comfort food — you’ll leave frustrated, hungry, and deeply let down.

Service was great, and the food was delicious! Their empanadas are only available on Friday, but are worth making a special trip! The location is very convenient if you’re visiting family members in the hospital or if you have a doctor’s appointment.

Food was finished fairly quickly, the worker I talked to was very nice also. I did have to go back because they forgot two of my items, so definitely double whatever you order from here. Food quality was good, and items were acceptable.

Worst experience I’ve had at a Taco Mayo. Won’t be returning. Ordered a Cheese quesadilla and beef quesadilla with jalapenos. Gave me 2 Beef Quesadillas one with and without jalapenos. Gave the wrong quesadillas without checking for jalapenos to my SIL who thought they just for got her jalapenos. Turns out they got my order wrong and my first bite was met with utter disappointment. Didn’t even get to eat. Wish I could leave a 0 star review. Won’t return to this location.

Update 5/24 lost a star. How small are yall gonna make the super beef burrito?! I added a picture compared to a ball point pen. SAD. Just under 5 bucks. Old lady at window kept inspecting my 5 dollar bill over and over. I’m not coming back! Yaw sad.
You guys have great food but your prices are really high and you skimp so bad right in front of our faces on your food it’s really kept me from coming back
Well I just return and within the drive thru and it literally took me 21 minutes from the time I ordered to get my food out the window and I ordered a beef burrito and got a bean I ordered miles off and got fire sauce the only thing was right was a taco Burger which actually was fairly good but their prices are still too high and they need help and the place is nasty.
I have returned several years later And their prices haven’t gone up much cause they were already high. But the meat tastes funny there’s something mushy about it and it’s not the same as it used to be I don’t care what they might say I know that it was better before. They’re still selfish on ingredients. I have a huge tortilla with hardly anything in it I’ll have some pictures. While taking another bite I figured out why it tastes kind of odd is the sauce they put on their taste like chili not burrito

Marsha and team kills it during the daytime! Visited today and food was outstanding and employees were very nice!!! I couldn’t quit ordering, it was all so yummy!! Homemade tortillas were amazing. Will be coming back asap!!!

I stopped by Taco Mayo today out of nostalgia, I used to visit this location regularly over 40 years ago and I
wanted my family to share a piece of that experience from my youth. The food was just as good as you’d expect from a classic taco shop, but what really stood out was the service. The ladies working there were welcoming, attentive, and treated us like family. It was well worth the visit, and I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Tulsa!

My super burrito had next to nothing in it. Quesadilla tasted like a Hot Pocket. Hardly any meat in it. Not sure I would ever visit this location at again. Had my dog in the car so we went through the drive thru and ate in the car. The girl inside watched us like a hawk as we ate, even though she just handed us our food at the window.

Terrible service young girl taking orders had a aggressive attitude.everything I asked for she said they did not have.Ive been eating at taco mayo for over 20 years and I have always asked for a side of there red sauce with my burritos (the warm chili like sauce and have always gotten it with no problems.but when I asked her she said get it yourself it’s over by the drinks.i clearly told her it was not the cold salsa, but she was not hearing it . So I tried explaining to her 2 more times but still did not even try to hear what I was saying as if she didn’t even want to bother with me and my family.so thanks to her we will never bring our business back in to this location I would rather drive all the way to the okmulgee location than to have to deal with her attitude.
