My experiences have always been positive at Taco John’s. Made fresh and plenty of flavor. Not fancy but a good meal and not terribly busy

I was hoping for better. Taco John’s seemed liked Taco Bell with potato wedges. That’s it. The food didn’t really taste better than Taco Bell… I didn’t feel it was “fresh” either. I was hoping for better chain like Del Taco (West Coast and growing East) or Taco Time (West Coast – Pacific Northwest).

They made my burrito wrong so I went back. Then I was given this (see photos)nasty charred version as the “fixed/corrected” replacement. Lol. This location used to be awesome and everything used to be correct several years ago. But seems to have gone downhill the past few years. Ingredient quantities and portions are wildly mismanaged here. I feel like a 5 year old kid could prepare less sloppy food and better ratio of ingredients than some of the sloppy heaps of food I’ve received here.

A very new and modern Taco John’s location. Food and service were excellent! Will be making a habit of stopping by on our road trips!

It’s not Taco Bell. I love the food flavors. For some reason I always eat a ton of their crispy potato oles. I’m glad that they offer sour cream and cheese sides. The trace salad was crispy and fresh. Even after the drive home, nothing got soggy.

Its your standard Taco John’s. Very good burritos, friendly staff and this location has never screwed up any of my orders. I really only come here for the tater tots though. I have no idea why a taco place has tater tots, but they are amazing.

I wish I had taken photos of my food but I couldn’t contain myself and just devoured it all. I got little bit of everything. I was expecting a taco bell experience but comparing them to taco bell just isn’t fair to taco johns at all. I will definitely be choosing this as my go to when I visit the Midwest side of Illinois. Overall very happy and very full.

Food is decent but this location routinely shortchanges you on portions. I feel like the ads are misleading on portion sizes. The potato sides are always underfilled (they are skimpy at this location and don’t fill or stuff their shells/containers properly, I’ve gotten the potato ole packs that were literally less than half full on numerous occasions.) I got the double beef potato quesadilla and it was most certainly NOT double beef. And i can say that with certainty because i was so upset by how skimpy it was that I went back and ordered a regular one for comparison and the regular non double beef one actually had more beef in it than the double beef one. Shortchanging the meat and cheese filling is a big problem i consistently have at this location though. Staff are always super nice and friendly, so ive never made a big deal about the shortchanging thing, and thats on me, but it does irritate me and its why i don’t go here often

Tacos were okay. Goat cheese and meat was good but half of the taco was shredded iceberg lettuce. Staff was friendly and the location is convenient for a quick meal before a movie. Wouldn’t go back because there are better options elsewhere.

Every time I go to Taco John’s it’s a great experience. The food is amazing, the customer service is fantastic, and they make your food so fast that if you have take out you’re in and out in about five minutes. Definitely one of my favorite places in Champaign, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
