12/16/25 11:30am. I went for Taco Tuesday and it was busy. Maybe because Oak Park height is closed and I saw that manager working at this location now. It’s fairly quiet inside. This location had black pepper which I like on tacos so I was surprised by that. Wi-Fi is weak and was hard to get a cell signal. Parking is a little different in that you can’t park right in front like other Taco John’s. There is seating outside. There are two restrooms unisex and the one I went into was clean.

Taco John’s Oakdale has not only the best midwest taste and style that Taco John’s is famous for, and potato Olés with nacho cheese of course!
We had a great time in drive thru. The staff eas funny and and accommodating with my many special requests. The only tiny, tiny problem is you can’t buy their amazing merch shirts, make them available for sale!! Please.
All of our hard shell tacos were crispy, the street taco trio spicy and served with limes and of course the cheese and Olès were steaming hot! Eating in your vehicle watching the lake is the best seating at your next visit to Taco John’s. Don’t wait until you get home, your tacos will be soggy. Taco law #2- don’t travel <2 kin with a hardshell for maximum crunching.
Stop in, say hi and ask when we can all buy our own shirt, “Shell yeah!”
Thank you to the hard working folks who fresh made our long needed post-infusion snack.
Midwest Mexican is the what Taco John’s is known for and it’s always fresh.
They always put in enough napkins too!

Bring your own sauce! What kind of business cannot afford 1 sauce packet per item? Asked 2 times and was told no by kid at register and a 2nd gal I’m assuming manager or supervisor saying no as well. 3rd time, I asked if I may have at least 1 packet per taco, still no, this time with a high pitch tone in her voice. What an attitude! Our order included 14 items. I had used 1/3 pack per taco. Cant believe this. Find another location. I would return everything next time if I cant get sauce for tacos, these tacos are no good without any taco sauce. If you cannot give extra sauce, at least offer to sell it with your tacos. Don’t stop here, go around the corner to Catrina’s for real authentic tacos, real homemade sauce, and excellent service for about the same money and you don’t have to ask for sauce or napkins.

Very clean for a fastfood place. Super good workers,friendly,and helpful. Taco Johns employees went above and beyond. Thank you for letting me leave my truck in your lot, when it died on me.

Food is consistent and good, but the staff can be very rude when it’s close to closing time. They have actually shut down the drive through lights when we were sitting waiting for someone to take our order 20 minutes before there posted closing time. Chicken quesadillas are the best bet there. So, if you go early in the day or an hour before closing time, you’re in for a treat!

Just got 5 hardshell tacos for taco Tuesday in the drive thru. Drove home and went to have them and this is what I find. In each taco all I got was a teaspoon of meat that didn’t even come close to covering the bottom of the entire shell. 4 out of the 5 didn’t have any cheese either.
Even my 5 yr old daughter asked where the meat was. Not sure if bad day, new employees or what but absolutely ridiculous.
