The food here is disgusting. Never again. I purchased $50+ worth of tacos. We got asada, tripa and cabeza. The meat was, I don’t even know how to describe it, like a nasty, dry machaca made out of very, very bad meat. Flavorless. The sauces were flavorless too. We couldn’t even finish the food because it was gross. There doesn’t seem to be much hygiene- they practically ring you up where they prepare your food. It is a tiny space but they could get creative. The lady ringing you up and preparing your to-go food is not so friendly, to say the least, wears no gloves while or after handling money and had very long nails. Talk about hygiene. There were flies all over the salsa bar and it was dirty. I do not recommend this place.

Surprisingly, taco shop options in Calexico are fairly limited. Taco holix boasts a variety of tacos and when I visited, they were out of several of their choices. I was looking forward to the borrego and unfortunately it ended up being blender meat. It tasted good but was a let down. The carne asada was good. The tacos came clean on a tortilla but they have a good salsa bar with some excellent hot salsa options including pico de gallo, cebolla/cilantro, & a spicey salsa verde. I asked for chips any fried me some up for a $1.50. Like many small shops, slightly over fried. Nice quiet atmosphere and okay prices.

Delicious the Carne Asada was grilled over charcoal and was packed with the smoky and savory flavors. I recommend you try to quesadillas as well with the guacamole that compliments the crispy cheese with the soft, homemade flour tortilla.

Meat was good as usual. Salsa bar is way too cold. Salsa and Pico de Gallo was frozen. Thursday time I go and there was no beans. Salsa bar was semi empty and frozen.

I tried the carne asada and al pastor tacos.. carne asada was good but al pastor was not good at all. It was burnt and super oily, tasted old. I had to throw it away.

Had a simple Carne Asada burrito, delicious. Will try other items, take out. Had taco de tripa (Excellent), Lengua (Delicious) and Chicharon (huge & yummy). Highly recommended.
