The worst tacos I ever seen after having high hopes for this place I was let down when I saw the raw uncooked tortillas and sloppy tacos that was unwrapped in front of me. The lady behind the counter was kind of snotty probably because I ask why the salsa wasn’t free they charge you extra for salsa, which is crazy usually Mexican restaurants provide that for free. Please save yourself the trip. These are so gross if you’re eating them, you don’t know what tacos are ,so sloppy and uncooked the tortillas from H-E-B bakery are way better.

Met Jen when I placed my order to go. She described herself as a Scot living in Texas managing a Mexican food place. Lol. She was a treat!
We ordered an assortment of breakfast tacos to go. It was a bit of a wait, but everything is made to order – including the tortillas!! Flour and corn!
Everything was delicious! Have already told several friends.
I saw the signs out front advertising a Happy Hour but did not get to see what that was.
The restaurant is a decent size – maybe 15 to 18 tables with very colorful Mexican decor.

Nice atmosphere, I love the booths, you have to try the carne guisada! Reminds me of my childhood. The best in the cypress area. I was pleasantly surprised. CALDO AND MENUDO ARE GREAT TOO!.Great staff and so friendly. My order is always correct. Enjoy!

The Tacos de Birria are delicious! I ate three of them here and ordered a plate to go. Their breakfast tacos are also very good. It’s a family-friendly place, family owned and operated. Music is not too loud like other Mexican places. Great service!

It is a small family owned restaurant. The red salsa had a little heat, while the green salsa was mild. The chips and queso were OK, but nothing to write home about. However, the star was the main courses. I got the Enchiladas de Mole Pablano while my wife got the Carne Guisada. The Mole had a nice dark chocolate flavor on the front end, while after a few seconds the spice hit. It was awesome. The Carne Guisada was fork tender and had loads of flavor. Both dishes came with rice and beans. It tasted like everything, even the beans, were homemade. My wife’s lemonade was made very well, though we both prefer slightly tarter, it wasn’t overly sugary.

Taco de Oro really said “No substitutions, no hydration, no peace.”

If you want to swap rice and beans for veggies like any other normal Mexican restaurant? Better pray you get the young guy with the gentle soul or the brown-haired waitress with the accent—because anyone else will look at you like you just asked for a gluten-free enchilada in 1992.

Water refills? That’s cute. Hope you like your salsa spicy and your lips chapped, because you’ll be thirstier than a cactus in July. I watched my water glass dry out like a time-lapse of the Mojave Desert.

And the check? Oh, sweet summer child. You don’t get the check. You earn it—by surviving a silent, awkward standoff where you try to make eye contact with a server who’s sprinting past you like you owe them money.

The food? Pretty good. The trauma? Immaculate. Five stars for chaos. One star for service. May God be with you

Great! I will be back. I had the fajita beef torta and it was good.

8/23/23 – this place is not what it used to be. I thought it was a new chef but they said it’s the same one. Maybe they’re cutting back on portions or something but I was not pleased.

The flavor was so-so and the portions were kid size. C’mon now y’all, it’s RICE & BEANS (soupy beans on top of that) ‍♂️.

I had the enchilada Suizas which I’ve had here before but there was no love in these.

We ordered some Birria tacos and they were very tasty. The meat was juicy and flavorful.
We also got some Street tacos with Chicken. The meat was a little dry but I liked it.
The Piña Colada tasted amazing. I loved it.
The restaurant was very colourful and nicely decorated.
It was an excellent service.

I recently tried the number tres lunch special at Taco De Oro, and I must say, it was an ok choice. What added to the experience was the ambiance – the place is adorned with charming Mexican decor, making for a delightful visual treat. The service is top-notch and speedy, precisely what you need during a busy day. While it wasn’t a mind-blowing experience, it was solid enough that I’m planning to give Taco De Oro another visit soon
