⛔️⛔️⛔️⛔️ I visited Taco Casa on February 9th and placed a $20 order. After paying, I was informed that they didn’t even have the food available to fulfill my order. I cancelled immediately and requested a refund, which the restaurant agreed to. The charges were reversed while I was still there.
However, after I left the establishment, my bank notified me that the restaurant recharged my card without my authorization. Recharging a customer after agreeing to cancel and refund the order is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about their business practices.
Not only was the experience frustrating because they couldn’t fulfill a simple order, but the unauthorized charge afterward crossed the line. I now have to deal with my bank to dispute something that should have never happened in the first place.
Very disappointing experience. I will not be returning, and I strongly advise others to double-check their statements if they choose to eat here. ⛔️⛔️⛔️⛔️⛔️

have been a loyal Taco Casa fan for YEARS. At least 20. Through thick and thin. Through broken tortillas and tacos falling apart mid-bite. I stayed.

Yes, the new soft tortillas no longer self-destruct while you’re eating. And I appreciate the structural integrity. Truly. But at what cost??

The flavor is… different. Not bad, just not right. It’s like Taco Casa fixed the problem we learned to live with, but in doing so took away part of its soul. I would honestly rather risk a tortilla blowout than lose that classic taste I crave.

Please consider this a formal request to bring back the old tortillas, cracks and all. Some of us are willing to suffer for flavor.

I have been a loyal customer of this establishment since my grade school days, a period spanning over 40 years. Thank you for the response. Thank you for the thin shell return.

I am a northsider, born and raised in the Almighty Highland Park neighborhood. I have literally been going to Taco Casa for what seam’s like a lifetime! Due in part because it has been. My mother took my sister and I there as children, and in return I continued the trend with my children. We have been frequent flyers to the oh so good Taco Casa for over 40 years until today. The oh so good and fire Taco Casa is nothing short of a long lost memory!! Listen nobody is more disappointed than me to say this , trust me I’m devastated to say the least. The last couple times the food has been questionable in taste, tonight sealed the deal for my son and I. Both got 3 tasteless beef enchiladas and chips with ice cold queso!! I mean I got home and they didn’t even try to heat the queso. The forever fire Taco Casa for us north sider’s is a distant memory. The new owners kept it close for awhile, now Taco Casa is a thing of the past like a black and white News paper, sad but so true!!

Honestly what the hell!?!? Me and my family stopped her and the outside seating is gone now, the good was just edible, their soft taco shells are jot made they are now clearly store bought like they wall to hyvee and grab a pack off the shelf, the taste was not bad but its off like they changed it completely most disappointing the Salsa!!!! It does not taste the same. Thought this place would stay the same forever guess not. Employees were all super nice as always. Owner needs to see this review and change it all back!

Idk What people are complaining about here recently. I ordered the Taco Burger(O.G. Bell Burger), and a Soft Taco. People have complained on REPEAT that the ground beef #1 was unseasoned and #2 greasy. Both of these arent true at all! If anything the beef is DRY but when ordering for the sole purpose of matching the original Taco bell I grew up with. This matches that taste 100%. People also complained they changed their tortillas. Again not true. The flour tortilla that I ate my soft Taco in was SPOT ON with the original Taco Bell recepie again AS PER WHAT I ORDERED. 10/10 Recommend, 10/10 WILL ORDER AGAIN and 10/10 Will Never Question! Taco Casa still holds the reins on Original Taco Bell Flavor, Style, Customer Service, And Quality! Sure shit aint cheap as it used to be. That’s inflation ya boomers! Cope. Id call $8 for my Taco Burger and $9 for a soft shelled Taco ON DOOR DASH is petty par for the coure when we are talking the portions they serve! You want a $1 Taco? Go to PepsiCo Taco Bell and get 100calories maybe. But if you want a full Taco, with real original natural ingredients we can trust to feed our kids, Taco Casa is where it is! Hope this helps!

IF I was forced to make a complaint it would be this. The cheese on nachos…. While I get that it was normal cheddar cheese back in the day. This doesnt keep for delivery and hardens quick. I would prefer the other cheese(Queso) that is used on the Burritos used on the Nachos aswell instead of the O.G. Cheddar. Even if it was just offered as a modifier on your menu and door dash. One of the greatest things about O.G. Taco Bell was the MASSIVE amount of customization options they allowed and you have mostly carried over into 2025 from 1972. But this needs to carry over to the cheese.

Dirty as usual. Tables were dirty at opening. Dirty silverware. Out of product, no ice in the ice machine, manager Ashley is very unprofessional. Owners could care less about the place. Avoid this dump and eat elsewhere.

I wouldn’t recommend this place… I had a hard shell taco…it was just plain ground beef with some lettuce and American cheese…there just was no spicy/Mexican flavor…I also had an enchilada which had the same plain ground beef and soaked in some sort of cheese sauce, hard to identify the type of cheese…it wasn’t like any enchilada I ever had before – very non spicy non-Mexican non flavorful… Maybe their specially is catering to bland tastes – if so they’re doing a great job…if you want Mexican food pass this place by…

I have been coming here since I was 12. So about 41 years. Have always loved it. Tried it after new owners took over and still great. Went there yesterday and was VERY disappointed that they have changed their tortillas for the soft shell tacos!! That is part of what made them great and now they are just OK. Please please please bring back the other tortillas!!

I love the new look. The outside area is now inside! It’s all open like it was pre-Covid. The folks working were kind and helpful.

I just have one complaint, the chimi sauce wasn’t included and the cheese enchiladas are smaller. Other than that, it’s so much better. Love and care are back at Taco Casa!
