TO THE MANAGER ON DUTY WHO TOLD HIM THIS: You do not need to be in charge. You only cared about having to give out food for free to fix an issue and tried to get me to walk away empty handed with no real solution. If for whatever reason the employee was reprimanded further, you should be ashamed. They did what YOU, THE MANAGER, were supposed to do: take care of the customer.
I am writing to express my disappointment regarding a recent experience at your Effingham, restaurant. My wife and I have been loyal customers for many years to Taco Bell and this community’s restaurant; frequently enjoying the Chili Cheese Burrito, a menu item we’ve appreciated across various locations in Texas, Louisiana, and beyond.
This morning, we attempted to order this burrito, only to find it unavailable via the online ordering system. Upon arrival at the restaurant, we were initially informed by a kind and helpful employee and older gentleman, that it was still available despite not being listed digitally. However, when this employee consulted with the General Manager, our experience took a negative turn.
The General Manager, instead of addressing our inquiry professionally, responded from her office with a dismissive and inappropriate tone, placing blame on the online ordering system and DoorDash platforms! Not even, I’m sorry to hear that. Her refusal to engage in a respectful conversation with us, and her lack of introduction, was particularly disappointing. When has it become customary to yell from your office seat at your customer at about 30 feet away.
Furthermore, the quality of the burritos we eventually received was substandard. The shells were old and fragile, crumbling with the first bite. This suggests a potential issue with food freshness and inventory management.
I believe this incident highlights a concerning lack of customer service training and potentially a systemic problem with food quality control. I urge you to address these matters promptly, ensuring that future customers are treated with respect and receive fresh, high-quality food. I trust you will take appropriate action to rectify this situation. If not your restaurant will follow the same factors of most here in Effingham. I’m very saddened by this factor and my experience today. Please, due better in the future!
