Outstanding! Never a disappointing moment at this restaurant. Shabu shabu restaurants are so hard to find in the Central Coast, California area, and this is the best of them all. The food is high-quality, and the service is outstanding. Every employee (Jake & Alex) cares and it shows in their service. Highly recommend.

a wonderful experience introducing our friends to Tabu Shabu for my wife’s birthday dinner last weekend. We have been many times but never with a big group or seated outside. It was a huge hit! Everyone loved picking their broth,, starches and proteins and cooking in their individual hot pot. The service was excellent and the food was so tasty. Excellent saki selection as well. The outdoor patio was perfect with outdoor heaters and we were able to hang out as long as we wanted. I look forward to hosting more friends at Tabu Shabu.

Lots of changes and the menu is way bigger than it used to be! I loved the salmon sashimi and the appetizers are all amazing.

The vibes are always so good here and the food is delicious. Make sure you go hungry because it is a lot of food!

Tabu Shabu is an absolute standout for shabu shabu. The quality of the ingredients really shines—fresh meats, crisp vegetables, and broths that are rich, clean, and full of flavor without being overpowering. Everything tastes thoughtfully prepared, and you can tell they care about consistency and quality.

What truly elevates the experience, though, is the customer service. The staff is incredibly responsive, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They’re quick to help, happy to explain options, and make sure you’re taken care of from start to finish. The whole experience feels smooth, comfortable, and well-run.

If you’re looking for great-tasting shabu shabu paired with excellent service, Tabu Shabu is 100% worth a visit. Highly recommend

Came here during the grand reopening and was very happy with the food and service!
Love the cucumber salad with spicy garlic crisp on the side
My favorite broth to get is the Kombu with broth booster and a little of the chili paste that they have.
Also gotta have the salmon sashimi that was really good as well.
10/10!!!

Went to Tabu Shabu recently under the new ownership and really enjoyed it. My girls and I really enjoyed the sake selection. The service was friendly and on point, the food was fresh and tasted great, and the vibe felt comfortable but still nice. Overall a solid spot and l’d definitely come back.

I was looking for a sushi place and came here. It was not what I thought it would be. It is quite different and that was good. I was tired of the same old thing and needed a change up – and this place filled that need. Everything about it was unique. You sit at a big bar and cook your own food at the counter. The quality of the food was wonderful (cant hide raw food quality) and everything tasted great. The counter person was wonderful as well. The only problem I had was starting the dinner before taking pictures.

I love this place so much. Went in tonight for dinner at 8:36, mind you they close at 10, and was told they did last call at 8:30. When I asked how that’s possible if they close at 10 and the chick just said “the cooks are cleaning and leaving” I’ve been coming here since they’ve opened and I’ve seen them let people sit and eat well past this. Left disappointed. The chick working probably just wanted to leave early.
