I didnt have time to eat in so I ordered to pick up. Next time I have to dine in. I ordered the Lamb chops. To my surprise they were the most favorable lamb chops I’ve ever had. The portion was a nice size enough to share but you might not want to share because they are so good you’re going to want to keep it all for yourself. Paired with the fragrant rice, pita, and hummus, this dish was perfect

One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago and owned and run by the family who used to run the kitchen in my Yeshiva when I was growing up. You have to go. Get the shawarma or falafel. So good. They also grill great steaks and lamb chops. Hummus is the best in the city.

I heard about this place, so I decided to give it a go. I ordered a falafel sandwich to go. While I was on the expressway I opened up the sack and took a bite out of the sandwich. I pulled off to the side of the road. It was so delicious I finished the falafel sandwich on the shoulder of the Edens expressway!!

Taboun Grill delivers a flavorful and reliably enjoyable dining experience, blending warm hospitality with dishes that highlight the best of Middle Eastern cooking. The atmosphere is inviting and relaxed, making it an easy place to settle in for a satisfying meal. Staff members are friendly and efficient, keeping the service smooth even during busy times.

The food stands out with fresh ingredients and well-balanced seasoning—whether it’s the tender, juicy kebabs, the creamy hummus, or the perfectly baked pita that arrives warm and fragrant. Portions are generous, and most dishes hit the mark with both flavor and presentation. While a few items could benefit from just a bit more refinement to reach that perfect five-star level, Taboun Grill remains a consistently strong choice and a spot you’ll happily return to for bold, comforting Middle Eastern favorites.

Absolutely fabulous. Spacious, comfortably lit, and well ventilated. You would never know the shawarma and grilling takes place openly right across the counter. But you can’t miss it as you look across the large room over the happy diners and along the walls adorned with beautiful art depicting Israel and Judaica.
Vibe is comfortable and, casual, and family friendly.
Service is fabulous and waits are completely reasonable. The Israeli salad, in deed, all of the salads, are fresh, addictive, seasoned to perfection. The pita is hot and fresh and fluffy. Imagine my delight when my 8 year old tries the shawarma for his first time ever and says “it’s amazing!”
The wait staff are sweet and attentive and polite.
I expected the Yemenite soup to be thicker and to come with pieces of meat but the flavor was there and it warmed my soul.
For desert do not pass up the home made baclava or pareve ice creams.
Kids menu includes chicken nuggets and a burger sans veggies. With sides of fries.
Can accommodate parties of few to many.
Order the ribeye with a side of Israeli salad and fries, some hummus and fresh pita and feel like a new person. I can’t wait to return and try the curry chicken.
שמיר, שתמשיך בהצלחה בכל אופן עם כל לקוח

If I could give it 0 stars I would. The service is terrible. One of the waitresses was giving me nasty looks due to my clothing. I asked for an original style shawerma and they had no idea how to make it. It is not the traditional style of shawerma that I find in Arab restaurants. The garlic sauce is terrible, the bread is not authentic. These people do not know how to make falafel or shawerma. It is almost like they stole someone else’s recipe and tried to replicate it and failed. Oh wait…

Taboun Grill is the best restaurant I’ve been to in Chicago. Their food is always fresh, the place is clean and the staff is attentive and friendly. The lunch special is a great value. The prices in general are quite reasonable for kosher.
