Service was good, but it took about 30 minutes to get our food. Our server apologized and explained that the kitchen was backed up due to a couple of large parties that were there. I ordered the Southwest breakfast bowl which was a bit bland and the potatoes were a little burned. The pancakes were also a bit burned, but undercooked in the middle. Portions were good, but food was underwhelming. We won’t be back for brunch, but may try again for dinner. Their cocktail selection looked really good.

I think we may have caught them on an off night. We waited probably close to 10 min for the hostess to acknowledge us. She was very apologetic and seated us immediately. We saw at least 5-6 other employees who made eye contact but never acknowledged our presence. Our server was very kind, but took quite a while to (again) acknowledge us. I believe they may be severely under staffed. Food was ok, at best. I prefer my crabcakes to be crispier on the outside but these didn’t really even have a crunchy crust. Soft and mushy, however the browned color was perfect, it may have sat before coming out. My kiddo couldn’t eat his burger, it was too done. I wish we had had a better experience. The employees that did talk to us were very kind and apologetic for all the wait times. I, in no way, believe any of this was their fault.

Excellent food options, large outdoor dining patio, and extensive local craft beer options. Service was courteous and friendly. Fun decorations commemorating history of the University of Iowa and surrounding area.

I went here a couple of weeks ago with a party of 5. I made a reservation and asked to be seated outside – they were extremely accommodating. The service we received from the hostess as well as our server was probably some of the best service I have received and they are the reason this review has 2 stars. We ordered drinks and appetizers (cheese curds and reuben bites) and they were incredible!! However, because of a large party of 30 (this is what we were told) it seems the kitchen may have been overwhelmed. We waited for an hour and were told our food would be ready in about 10 minutes. Time passed and it still had not come out. While I do understand this is a new restaurant, I felt it was completely unacceptable to wait for this amount of time. We decided to pay for the drinks and appetizers and leave, and the manager came out and told us our food was ready if we still wanted it. It seemed odd to me that their manager came over without our food (which was supposedly ready) to ask if we wanted it. Nothing was comped. To be honest, the food and drink we did have were great, but the experience was bad enough that I likely won’t go back.

My husband and I were told the wait time would be 10 minutes. It ended up being 40 which we weren’t too upset about. Once we were sat it took about 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order or acknowledge us. When we put our order in we waited for about an hour to only get cold food. We really liked table when it opened but we have given it multiple chances and have had the same experience to many times.

I went again to brunch with a friend and we ordered the eggs Benedict. She had to have it made twice because it was very cold. The manager came out and made jokes about firing the chef and said she yelled at him which was not needed. Very uncomfortable.

I’d love to add a photo of the masterfully crafted chicken sandwich I had tonight, but I ate it too fast! My husband and I stopped in for a Saturday night bite and we’re not disappointed. Chill atmosphere, good vibes, and great eats! The staff was friendly and the service was top notch. A must-have if you’re in the Iowa City area! We’ll be back. 🙂

Visited here for supper on a Wednesday with a friend. I didn’t realize this was the old Beer Burger location. We were sat outside on the patio and mic night was going on. Water was provided right away and the menus were paper to abide by Covid rules. The menu was confusing since it stated “Lunch” at the top. (I also heard many other tables wondering if it was only the lunch menu.) We ordered wine for happy hour. I probably wouldn’t ever order drinks there without happy hour. The cocktails were very expensive. I find it hard to see this restaurant stick around especially with Tin Roost right down the road. I ordered a burger and my friend got the mac n cheese. Burger was very good! The side salad dressing was different (cucumber vinaigrette and it was mustard yellow color.) Mac n cheese was really average my friend said. Staff asked us 4 different times how the food tastes, seemed excessive. Weirdest part of the place was the sink in the women’s restroom. It was automatic and would only stay on for less than a second. They might need to get that fixed. Food was good, staff was nice, but it was overpriced. I probably won’t go back unless they have a better happy hour special like Tin Roost.

Steak bites were rare. Salmon was burnt on both sides. Burger was real tasty but bun was basic. Beef was good quality. Fries sucked flat out no better way to say it. No coasters for drinks at our table so it turned into mini pond in the center. Management came by like expected, he took the steak bites off the bill. So TY. Drink was good. Place is clean. Waitress and staff all presentable unlike at Tin Roost. Cooks need to step it up a bit and place could be decent.

I had dinner here with my coworkers and the service, food & drinks were AMAZING!! We love supporting local businesses, and this restaurant was incredible. Not only were the servers sweet and attentive, but the chef came out to see how we liked the food & the owners even came out towards the end of the night to thank us! I recommend the Big Blue mule & the pasta and street corn – seriously incredible!!! Such a great atmosphere & cant wait to eat here again!!
