I now have a new favorite restaurant in Des Moines to add to my small list!
I had a cup of the soup of the day which was chicken and oyster mushroom soup. Very complex flavors and seasoned to perfection… I could’ve eaten seven more bowls of that! The wedge salad was delicious and the half size was generous!
Husband had the burger and fries which he loved, and the meal was nicely ended with two tiny little chocolate chip cookies which he said were fabulous!
Can’t wait to return

Excellent happy hour selections. Me had a couple dirty martinis and the cabernet. Our first time here. I had the Pork Delmonico. My friend had the heirloom chicken. Both were delicious. Then we enjoyed the Chocolate Tart and each took home a pack of cookies to go. Warm gooey delicious cookies. Amazing way to end the meal a day drive home. Excellent service and dining experience. Wonderful atmosphere and this will be on our repeat restaurant downtown locations. Loved it very much!!!

Have been a veteran of Table 128 from the beginning- I was so excited to drive from NE again just for another experience.
Atmosphere was inviting and just as decadent as the food. Details hand-picked by chef at every glance of the eye.
Service was friendly, educated, and personable. Drinks were perfectly balanced- squash mocktail took my breath away and the wine list was curated with care and thoughtfulness. Recommendations were subtle and thoughtful but led us to the perfect dining experience.
I got the infamous Brussels sprouts salad- avid fan- can’t believe it’s even better than the last time I had it. Cheese soufflée had the perfect layers of flavor, Lynn’s burger was expertly cooked and tasting profile was beyond the typical beef sandwich. The tart was velvety, crunchy, salty and sweet. Don’t miss out on the maple cream 😉 and those damn cookies. They get me every time. You haven’t truly smiled till you’ve eaten one of those.
All in all- I will be waiting with bated breath till my husband I can go again.

Table 128 has a wonderful Chef’s tasting menu every Saturday night. It’s creative, delicious, and never the same. For example, last night the beef tenderloin tartare was truly special. The platter of grilled trout, which is seldom on local menus, was a beautiful specimen grilled to perfection. Warm apple crisp with a dollop of vanilla ice cream was a perfect finale.
The servers at Table 128 are experienced, friendly and efficient. It’s apparent that they enjoy their job and want to ensure that the guests have a memorable evening.

This was our first though admittedly belated opportunity to enjoy the downtown location and we were delighted by the welcoming space and staff. By chance we were there on a Wine Down Wednesday which allowed us to try some remarkable wines at half-off with our meal. We both ordered steaks which paired perfectly with a special wine from Priorat in Spain (yes, we are cork dorks). Our chef, Lynn is also quite knowledgable about wine and offered sage advice about what would work best but not until he learned about what our food choices and preferences were. Our steaks were perfectly prepared and went beautifully with the wine. After dinner we asked about an option for dessert with a dessert wine and they created a wonderful Crème Brûlée and something for my chocoholic partner. Yum!
Thank you for a special evening and we look forward to learning about the Chef’s Saturday menu!

We did the Chefs Tasting Menu with wine pairing. Absolutely amazing. Our host was Tabitha and she did a fantastic job of keeping the food/drinks coming at just the right time. If you are familiar with dinners in Europe, the experience is more about great food/family/friends, and less about filling your belly in record time. Our experience was a 3 hour celebration. Food was spaced perfectly so by the end of the night we couldn’t eat another bite even though the portions were not a full plate. We had the squash plate, Chicken Ballotine, and Carrot Cake, all of which were paired with the perfect wine. Each dish was beautiful (I don’t photograph my food, it’s more about flavor which you can’t capture in a photo), just the right size and a complex mixture of flavors. The only issue of the night was the bottle of wine we bought to fill glasses between courses was on my sisters bill and not mine as requested. Secretly I relished the mix-up. I highly recommend Table 128 and Tabitha for your next night out!

Had a fantastic dinner at Table 128 in Des Moines. The Brussels sprout salad was outstanding, bright, layered, and surprisingly craveable. The bruschetta with strawberries was a clever twist that bordered on dessert in the best way, unexpected, interesting, and delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked with great texture and flavor, and the heirloom chicken was incredibly juicy and full of depth. Service was excellent, attentive without being intrusive. And the warm, bite-sized chocolate chip cookies at the end sealed the deal, soft, melty, and memorable. I will definitely be back.
