Our expectations were exceeded this weekend at Table 105. We regularly visit Cook Forrest and were looking for a nearby restaurant that offers a “step above” the tavern fare that typifies the area. Current positive web reviews about Table 105 motivated us to make the drive to Kane.
The friendly, front-house team was efficient in greeting, seating and serving us. The extensive and enticing menu whetted our appetites with detailed descriptions of all selections. Likewise, the beverage list had many tempting and unique options.
The Hot Spinach Artichoke Dip with house-made potato chips was especially tasty. The dip had a terrific balance of flavors and the chips were addictive (not greasy or overly salted).
The Usual Burger was anything but usual; the beef was clearly superior in quality and was seasoned to excite the tastebuds. The fries were crunchy, scrumptious and disappeared fast.
The Towering Ahi Tuna Wonton made me howl. The tuna was especially fresh and the accompanying relish, sauce, sliced ginger and wasabi resulted in a sushi BOMB. I can’t get those flavors out of my head.
If we lived in the Kane vicinity, Table 105 would be our go-to restaurant. There are at least 20 additional menu choices that I NEED to taste.
Atmosphere: This is what we like, it has a country charm.
Drinks ordered:
Bahama Mama, Strawberry sweetheart Mimosa & water. The Bahama Mama was a little on the weak side but still good. I didn’t realize I had to mix my own Mimosa, but I rarely get them, so this might be how it should be. (It was on the Valentine’s menu).
Appetizer:
Spinach Artichoke in bread bowl, which is always delicious and very filling.
Dinner: Shrimp Alfredo (side: French Onion Soup), Chicken Parmesian (side: Salad) & 105 Burger with fries. The servings are large and all three of us enjoyed our meals. Everything tastes homemade/chef experience except the French dressing, which tasted out of a bottle. The French Onion soup is a must-have.
We did get dessert to go. We chose the Pavlova & Amaretto Chocolate Cloud Cake. I would order the Pavlova again, but the Amaretto Chocolate Cloud Cake wasn’t what I was expecting for $10 a piece.
You could tell they were short staffed, and the manager was assisting by seating, delivering drinks, cleaning off tables, and bringing out checks. Our food took about 20-30 minutes more than average (of our previous experiences), but I think it was due to the waitress stacking orders because of staffing.
They do charge if paying with a credit card.
We enjoy table 105 and will be back again.
