Restaurant was adorable with great atmosphere and the food was excellent. Service was fine until the end. When we paid and asked if tips were included our waiter told us NO. Turns out that was not true. Service is always included in Brussels as we found out from our Brussel’s family and from other patrons when we were leaving the restaurant. As we understand it tips are above and beyond the service fee, which is considered the tip. We probably would have tipped extra if we had been given the straight scoop, but now the whole experience leaves us with a slightly bad taste. Better to be straight with customers in the future, regardless of whether they are from the area or not.

My husband and I came here during our honeymoon (he is French, raised in Belgium) and had of the most delicious meals we’ve ever had together. The fare is hearty and perfect, not too fussy but exquisitely done, with cheerful professional service in an elegant but cozy environment. A wonderful evening, simpler than but on par with some of the multiple-michelin-starred restaurants we visited for overall enjoyment. Simply wonderful food.
