We just moved to town and this bar is walking distance from us. We went a few times and had no problem. We went back recently and the bar tender was rude and ignored us. When we finally got his attention he turned us away for being to intoxicated. Mind you we where all sober and had no drinks at this point, we had just come from a restaurant that did not serve alcohol. If your not obviously a local they will make you feel uncomfortable, unwelcomed, and refused service for no reason.

Fantastic bar with a great selection of local beers. It’s a very warm atomosphere with great music and lots of regulars. There is plenty of seating inside. The bartender Mel that was there was very kind and got us our drinks fast. I’m so glad to have a nice bar close to where I live.

A great local watering hole slash dive bar that was mostly barflies when I arrived in the afternoon. No one seemed to mind me setting up with my laptop at one of the tables and no one disturbed me during my Zoom call.

Beer was cold and the hightop table was decently comfortable. An enjoyable afternoon.

Went there and spent about 2 hours were very respectful, tipped after every drink, my wife and I left and the. Came back about 1 hour later and were told by the head bartender Justin we were able to be served because we were a bit tipsy when we left yet he bought my wife a beer on him, and served us literally 10 minutes before we left. We come back and this Justin doesn’t have the spine to tell us he can’t serve us, he tells someone else to tells us. I asked did we disrespect someone, answer was no, was just told we could t be served. Total joke! If your not from the area beware because they will find a way to make you feel uncomfortable!

I don’t normally leave bad reviews but our treatment at this bar was so poor I had to write a review. We arrived at this bar after a wedding reception for my sister due to a recommendation from a friend. At the door we were promptly greeted with strict ID rules which could be understandable to this being a college town. We were adults, not excessively drunk, trying to enjoy an after party with a juke box and pool. We were completely respectful of the space other than enjoying the music and singing along, and even many of us were sober. However, after arriving at the bar, we were promptly yelled at and threatened to get kicked out after someone set a drink on the pool table. The bartender continued to be rude, denied a drink for one of our friends for being too drunk despite her not causing a scene or any issues, and then proceed to kick us out after he saw one of our party share a drink THAT THEY PAID FOR, continued to confiscate it, and then kick us out.
We had many LGBTQIA members there and if was suggested from a regular bar visitor that this place has homophobic and racist tendencies
I have never in my 32 years of life been treated like this at a bar and would NOT recommend this establishment to anyone.
After reading reviews, this is not seem to be a isolated incident. If you are mature grown adult avoid this bar if you want to be treated respect

A good selection of choices. The bartender Mel is Attentive and polite. They have a back patio if you want to smoke a ciggarette. The fries are great, so are the drinks. The environment here is a little rustic, classical American, but music is really good.
For me it’s closeby too.

Horrible experience last night. Me and my two girlfriends showed up sober, all over 21, we used the restroom, came out to get a drink and sit on the patio and were were promptly asked to leave and would not be served by the bartender. We were shocked, confused and embarrassed. Apparently it’s suspicious for 3 young girls to use the bathroom together, we stay together considering the safety concerns of being in burlington nowadays. Sad to know that we can’t rely on bars like this to have a drink and hangout. I’ve noticed from other reviews that this isn’t a new thing and I think it’s really wrong to baselessly pick and choose who you serve.

Great local dive bar that was very accommodating to outsiders. The bartender was very friendly and willing to introduce you to others at the bar with similar interests (or could answer your questions about Burlington!) The crowd is great as well. It’s probably the first bar I’ve seen play cribbage on the regular, if you’re interested.

Prices were pretty reasonable, even if you were getting a Philly-style citywide. (I was glad to see Dewer’s for that.) They also had a great tap selection of Vermont beers beyond what you’d expect a typical local bar.

Honestly, I was happy to see hockey always being played there. There’s also a deck available if the weather is better. Although, with the weather I was experiencing I didn’t get to use it.

A great time!
