Very delicious sandwiches! I got the Winter Wonderland and I would highly recommend if you like a touch of sweet! I’m not even vegan but so far all of their vegan options have been super tasty and I’ll definitely be returning 🙂

Enjoy coming here for lunch. The Alice vegan grilled cheese and tomato soup are my favorites. They had a side of some great tasting hashbrowns…maybe they will be back on the menu again someday. Staff is very helpful and friendly in helping you pick the best options and explaining the menu.

Great food and even better customer service! I ordered online and my food wasn’t ready when I arrived I waited in my car and Erin was kind enough to bring my order out to me when it was ready. Especially with the rain, that small gesture really made my day. Really appreciated it!

This place isn’t talked about enough. Great soups, grilled cheese and vegan options. Crab bisque is a tad on the salty side but still great. Sandwiches are the perfect size and delicious. Will definitely order again

I absolutely LOVE this gem. Found it 3 years ago suggested by locals while I was visiting Richmond. I’ve made it a point to go back every single time when I’m in town each consecutive year. My only wish is that they had a bowl of their tomato soup side available as it is so delicious! My coworker and I look forward to eating here and patiently wait all year for October to roll around

I was so disappointed in this place. After going through the menu based off the pictures I decided on the steak slider. The picture clearly shows the sandwich in toasted SLICED BREAD. Imagine my surprise when I opened this tiny box with a toasted hamburger bun and meat on there. It looked nothing like the picture!! The taste was mediocre at best and it was small. When I called I to share my grievances i was told “it is the same as the picture “ never once was I asked what can we do to rectify the situation or make you happy. I typically give places 2 chances but won’t be returning here again.

I love grilled cheese… but this was my first time buying one from Cheddar Jackson. My daughter introduced me to them and these were SO GOOD! I had the Brooklyn vegan and the Bella vegan. These were grilled cheese turned up a notch!!! I cant even explain how tasty and flavorful these were and it came with a little cup of fresh tomato soup.
I cant wait to order take out again because this was the best vegan grilled cheese I’ve had. I’m so grateful for a place that’s figured out the need for great testing vegan cheese!

I’m so sad to leave a not-so-great review of this place after seeing so many great things about it. I decided to stop here for lunch and was thoroughly disappointed with the service. For two sandwiches that didn’t have a lot of ingredients, it took over 45 minutes. This was with no line and two orders before ours – one being DoorDash and the time between my order and the DoorDash order was over 30 minutes. The woman at the front gave me free chips for the wait but at no point tried to see what the hold up was. I’m pretty sure one of the sandwiches was taken back to get fixed after it had been over 30 minutes. The sandwiches were good and was the only reason I did not give a lower rating. The total amount was not cheap either, and I strongly believe that when paying, the service time is a part of it.

Good Afternoon! Came by Cheddar Jackson for lunch. I ordered a Smoked Robinson, and my partner had a Fat Boy Basquiat. They serve Boylan Soda Products, and Mexican Coca Cola as well. The Smoked Robinson had Gouda and Country Ham, it was lighter on the stomach than the Roast Beef and Cheese of the Basquiat. I didn’t taste much of the Hot Honey Dijon sauce on the Smoked Robinson. The Fat Boy Basquiat was very good we opted to get it with red onion as well which gave it a bit more flavor with the Roast Beef, Cheese, and Horse Radish Sauce. My favorite part was the way the bread was handled, it wasn’t over saturated in garlic butter or a version of Texas toast. It was slightly brushed buttered and placed in a panini press. With our orders we also got pasta salad, a blueberry muffin, and a chocolate chip cookie. All of which were good and a nice treat. Now the part of this experience that wasn’t so pleasant, was the wait and the music. The store has a vibe of a retro diner with a modern twist, but there is very limited seating. The music coming right out over customers is Reggae, but not just any Reggae like some pretty vulgar stuff. Which is fine in your own time, but when you are waiting for food, hearing a song about personal interaction with female genitalia doesn’t help with a person’s appetite. No where in the entirety of the store do I see island inspired or in the menu. Bless the chef’s heart, because you can tell she puts love in every sandwich but the speed of the kitchen is on island time. The sense of urgency isn’t there until your order is literally the only thing left.

We were in town for a wedding and staying at a nearby Air B&B right down the street. I ordered food online and went to pick it up.
It’s a small little place with only a few seats. My food was ready to go when I arrived approximately 20 minutes after ordering.
I got the turkey panini to split with my wife. I got the classic which has lettuce, tomatoes, red onion and mayo. It was exceptional! The cheese was gooey and sandwich hot and delicious.
My wife got the pimento cheese with crackers which is sourced and made locally.
They also had beer to go! I tried a blueberry ale from Isley Brewing, which is also local.
We also got two cookies which were soft and chewy, just the way we like them.
Definitely will order from here again if back in town in the future.
