Finding a parking spot can be a challenge but the strip mall across the street is friendly.
Once inside you are met with nothing but smiley faces and the aroma of good food.
We had a cup of corn & crab bisque, yummy x2.
Seafood Gumbo w/Mirliton and Shrimp Casserole which my DW loved.
Shrimp Creole which I loved.
and a cup of Earl Gray, hot and strong.
So stuffed my DW had to get the bread pudding to go.
Also had the Hot Sausage Poboy. Very good spice and veggies.
Great Service! All the employees busy helping customers as well as each other!!
Parking lot small and full! Restaurant was about half full at lunch time.
The service is always great, food is hot and fresh, and everything tastes wonderful. I highly recommend the zucchini sticks. The desserts are also great.
It was hands down the best meal we have had in all of our travels this week. I don’t like eggplant, and the fried eggplant sticks were my absolute favorite item we tried. The fried green tomatoes were the best we have tried the whole trip, thinly sliced, light crispy breading… perfectly cooked.
We also tried the chicken salad. If you are not a fan of egg salad, this chicken salad is not for you. It was creamy, loaded with chicken and eggs served on a bed of lettuce with homemade croutons. It was the perfect summer dish. Also, with the chicken salad, my party tried the baked mac and cheese, this was a very rich and velvety Mac and cheese with so much flavor and baked to perfection, the noodles were not mushy.
I had the half mufalatta …. this thing was HUGE … if you are considering sharing, this is the sandwhich to do so. The bread has a nice crust on it, buttery and soft in the center, the olive topping was perfect, the olives were “crisp”, the carrots still had a nice crunch, it did not give off a tin can flavor as so many olives do, and the oil ratio was spot on, enough to coat the sandwhich but not drowning in it.
Their desserts looked amazing, we took a slice of carrot cake with us and it’s also huge. We have yet to sample it.
If you are in Slidell, passing through, somewhat close by… make sure to stop in for lunch or dinner.
