Lunchtime on the road Eastbound on I-10 in LA where can you find excellent local fare?

The answer is at T LeBlanc’s.

Finding a parking spot can be a challenge but the strip mall across the street is friendly.

Once inside you are met with nothing but smiley faces and the aroma of good food.

We had a cup of corn & crab bisque, yummy x2.
Seafood Gumbo w/Mirliton and Shrimp Casserole which my DW loved.
Shrimp Creole which I loved.
and a cup of Earl Gray, hot and strong.

So stuffed my DW had to get the bread pudding to go.

Great Food! Had the Creole Sampler. Shrimp Creole was very good, but could have used more spicy. Loved the Seafood Gumbo!! Corn & Crab Bisque was very good, but a bit sweet.
Also had the Hot Sausage Poboy. Very good spice and veggies.
Great Service! All the employees busy helping customers as well as each other!!
Parking lot small and full! Restaurant was about half full at lunch time.

Well, this place exceeded my expectations, which admittedly were low, in both food and service. I will return! The corn and crab bisque was the best! I ordered the fried catfish meal with red beans, rice and the corn/crab bisque. Sweet tea to drink. I ate everything and left stuffed! Very tasty. Priced reasonably for portions provided. Clean, kind and friendly staff. Thank you for an enjoyable lunch experience!

We tried T LeBlanc’s because of the high ratings but we were let down. The food was average, the service was below average and the atmosphere was ok. The fried eggplant was fine but not seasoned. The corn and crab bisque tasted like cream corn with crab meat in with little seasoning. The muffaletta had great bread but tasted like a ham and cheese because it had very little mortadella or salami and not much olive salad. The fried catfish was fine. The gumbo was basic and the shrimp poboy was ok. Our server took way too long to take our order and only checked on us once after our food arrived.

My wife and I love coming here for lunch.
The service is always great, food is hot and fresh, and everything tastes wonderful. I highly recommend the zucchini sticks. The desserts are also great.

We have been traveling since 6/3/23, and while on our way back home to Missouri, we needed something to eat that wasn’t just a grab and go. While looking on the map at the next largest city, I saw Creole and that it had 4.7 star review, and that’s all I needed to stop.

It was hands down the best meal we have had in all of our travels this week. I don’t like eggplant, and the fried eggplant sticks were my absolute favorite item we tried. The fried green tomatoes were the best we have tried the whole trip, thinly sliced, light crispy breading… perfectly cooked.

We also tried the chicken salad. If you are not a fan of egg salad, this chicken salad is not for you. It was creamy, loaded with chicken and eggs served on a bed of lettuce with homemade croutons. It was the perfect summer dish. Also, with the chicken salad, my party tried the baked mac and cheese, this was a very rich and velvety Mac and cheese with so much flavor and baked to perfection, the noodles were not mushy.

I had the half mufalatta …. this thing was HUGE … if you are considering sharing, this is the sandwhich to do so. The bread has a nice crust on it, buttery and soft in the center, the olive topping was perfect, the olives were “crisp”, the carrots still had a nice crunch, it did not give off a tin can flavor as so many olives do, and the oil ratio was spot on, enough to coat the sandwhich but not drowning in it.

Their desserts looked amazing, we took a slice of carrot cake with us and it’s also huge. We have yet to sample it.

If you are in Slidell, passing through, somewhat close by… make sure to stop in for lunch or dinner.

Saw the good reviews and stopped by on a whim, wanted to get some good creole food during a quick stop in New Orleans. I was not disappointed! I got the red beans and rice with sausage, tasty, though not any spice so I had to add hot sauce. I didn’t try any desserts but they looked delicious!
