My teen ordered 2 gyros w/fries + lemonade from off uber. Food arrived and the bag was huge and heavy. The bag of fries could have served 3. The sandwich looked delicious, we dug in before pictures. On first bite I thought they surely did season this well, about the second bunch of fries I thought wow salt on EVERY SINGLE fry….. interesting & how. I went to the bottom on the gyro to get a less seasoned meat and every piece of meat was salty, I’m talking bite the sandwich and literally kiss my lips and baby you tasting salt. I was really sad because it truly looked delicious, even the onions and sauce was salty. I was so confused never have I ever had a salty gyro, whyyyyyy, I highly suggest HOLDING the salt and offering salt packets on the side. I couldn’t eat the food, which maybe I didn’t need it huh. I think it has potential if they relax on the salt. Oh AND the lemonade knocked my socks off because it was Extremely SWEET I’m like hold up I didn’t order salt and sugar for dinner but I guess I did
Essentially, their big baby is just a cheeseburger with non caramelized onions.
My Italian beef was so soggy that by the time I took it back home, it was essentially a limp Italian beef with no seasoning. I had to spit out the last bite once I got to a quarter of the way ( I was hungry) and something to note of is that I love three minutes away from this place.
I had ordered a coke and was never told that they didn’t have coke products so they just gave me a Pepsi.
Overall, if you’re a stickler for getting your order right, or having any sort of seasoning, then please disregard this place.
Customer service:
Cashier seemed grumpy. I don’t know if it was the fact that I wore a mask or her just being crabby, but if it was the mask then take the sign that says “masks required to enter” off your door. I noticed she also was crabby & seemed to not know how to take a phone order when someone called in. She acted like it was a telemarketer calling her at home, proceeding to ask how they got the number (they dialed it from Google Maps,) where they were calling from, etc. instead of simply asking delivery or pick-up then taking their order since it was pretty obvious the conversation was about ordering food. I honestly think she talked the customer out of placing an order since they just ended the call on her.
The chef himself was very friendly, greeted regulars by name & diligently prepared the food. People definitely were vibing with him which she should take a cue from since she barely spoke to people then stood silently in the background the entire time I was there. 3/5
Fries:
Shoestring. Light gold. Massive amount…easily seveal potatoes worth of fries. A good amount of salt. Fries are slightly dry, but overall good. 4/5
Double cheese burger –
I usually expect a diner to have a decent burger & this met that standard. Would like a bit more cheese (a higher quality cheese would be nice too) on a double cheese burger. Perfectly cooked & warm, but for a menu item named the “Big Baby” it didn’t hold up to it’s name since it only had sauteed onions (if these were supposed to be caramelized they were way undercooked,) pickles, mustard & ketchup. It could’ve used some fresh tomatoes & maybe some lettuce. 3/5
Overall T & G Gyros is ok. I’m not tempted to try out the gyros though. It’s a bit underwhelming, but it won’t break your bank. The doublecheese burger “Big Baby” combo came with a ton of fries & a drink for a little over $8.
3 out of 5 stars
