We were in town camping and did a little kayaking on the river. Worked up an appetite after and thought we’d stop in for a drink and a late lunch.
The atmosphere was very inviting and the service was fabulous. Everybody super friendly. We started out with a bloody Mary and some appetizers, fried pickles and Southwest egg rolls. Both were quite tasty.
I ordered the quesadilla, which was good but a little chunkier than I prefer but still tasty. Hubby ordered a patty melt and added mushrooms and just loved it. The rest of the group did chicken wings Each had a different sauce and thought they were all good.
We would recommend stopping here and will definitely do so again next time we come hang in town!
We will definitely stop back next time. We’re in town and would highly recommend doing so if you are in the area.

Stopped by for lunch and ordered the Greek salad with salmon. The salad itself was fresh and flavorful—crisp veggies, tasty dressing, and a generous portion. The only downside was the salmon, which tasted a bit processed and didn’t quite match the quality of the rest of the dish.

Service was fantastic—friendly and attentive staff made the experience pleasant. ⏳ The food did take a little while to come out, but the laid-back atmosphere made the wait easier to handle.

Overall, a solid lunch spot in Decorah. I’d come back to explore more of the menu—just might skip the salmon next time!

T-Bocks was the place, great sandwiches, really great service and an eat and cool place to have lunch or dinner. The bar has plenty of beer choices on tap including local IPA’s. My wife’s pork tenderloin was hand breaded with a side of house made potato salad. I had a French dip and my waiter suggested pepper jack cheese with hot delicious fries. The roll was a perfect complement and the sandwich is a must have. T-Bock will definitely be seeing me in the fall!! The pork tenderloin was also very tasty and well prepared.

Exceptional food for a bar. Standout service. We were passing through and had two locals point us here, and they were right.

The hamburgers were fresh and delicious; we loved both the classic and German variations. The fries were cooked just right with spot-on salt. The root beer instantly became a favorite.

Their homemade Butterfinger cheesecake sealed it. Easily the best cheesecake we’ve had anywhere; and that comes from a couple who spent the last decade traveling abroad.

The server we had was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. He was very polite and respectful. He used very good manners. He said “Sir” etc. Nothing was dirty except our plates when we finished the food. Just a suggestion would be to add a little padding to the seats. The service was fast and we got seated in the first minute of entering. The water did taste a little different but they can’t control that. When he forgot something and we politely told him he wasn’t mad about it. He smiled and said “Of course!”. He checked in on us all the time and made me feel good. When we got our drinks he gave us a coaster. The bathroom was very clean. The food came and I was a little disappointed. I ordered the chicken strips and they did not taste as good as i thought.

I do not live here so if you’re coming here for something this is a good place.

Final: it was fine

Great atmosphere, great beer list, good service. The food was ok. The “famous” wings priced at 12 for $24 were dry, very small, and not worth the price. The southwest wrap was good, the Sweet potato fries were undercooked. Definitely stop for drinks.

Right off the bat, we had felt unwelcomed. The waitress was all smiles and friendly to all the older people, but not so much to us. Definitely felt like we didn’t belong.
The food was ok at best. I got a patty melt, the menu says Cooked Medium Well. Mine was very well done, little flavor and even less moisture. The fries were decent.
I was really surprised at how fast the cheese curds came out, but it came out so fast because they were under cooked. The small curds were done, but half of them were thick and still almost frozen in the middle.
The best part of our meal was the 1919 root beer on tap, which we never were asked if we wanted a refill.
No desire to return to a place that was so unwelcoming.

Bloody Mary’s are great!

Great experience at T Bocks. I would highly recommend the bloody Mary! Great service and food. We ordered a parmesan chicken wrap, homemade coleslaw and homemade potato salad. All of which were very tasty! We would definitely eat there again.

First off, let me say it’s strange to us to go to a sports BAR and for there to be no hard-liquor… except for vodka? R was disappointed to not to be able to get his usual Jamo & ginger, and then they were out of the cider he wanted, so the whole meal started off on the wrong foot. My bloody was fine, though the mix wasn’t my favorite. I guess I prefer something less tomato-y.

Then came the meals themselves. Good news first – the BLT and fries was pretty darn good. Nicely toasted bread, a good balance of meat to veggies and the right amount of mayo, but friends… these are NOT chicken strips! These are chickie nuggies at best and the thing I always fear when I roll the dice on ordering chicken at a bar. I guess I expect for $13.50 that there will be actual strips of chicken tenders. Juicy and meaty…the kind I can peel the breading off of (my favorite way to eat chicken) first and then dunk the meat into the sauce. But no – these are sad and spongey affairs and frankly sucked. The coleslaw was GREAT, so you should definitely get that, and I always love a beer-battered fry.

Verdict: This wouldn’t be my first stop if I were to find myself back in downtown Decorah, but, if you avoid the chicken “strips” and are thirsty for beer, you could do worse.
