Don’t let the outside appearance of this restaurant deter you from visiting. The inside is actually pretty nice. The service is great and the food is delicious. I prefer my dishes on the spicier side and had to make it clear that I want the ‘real’ authentic level of spicy…that tongue numbing spice. My favorite dish from there so far is the mapo tofu, that was awesome and I can’t resist the sesame balls. The vegetable salad is really good too. It’s seasoned with the chili oil, has carrots and seaweed and a few other veggies. The Szechuan style dishes are very different from the typical corner Chinese stores. I don’t really see too many in my area of the state, so I make it a point to visit them when I can because the food just had a whole different taste to it.

After living in China for two years, this place is hands down the most authentic and amazing Chinese food in the area. The menu is huge and the flavors are deep and balanced. If you like spicy food, buckle up baby. Get the cumin lamb and the fried dumplings. The chicken and green beans is also fantastic. Picture of dumplings not available because they were eaten too fast to photo.

Best Chinese restaurant in New Jersey. I’ve been going 7-8 years now. Almost broke my heart when they closed for a year some time ago, but glad they’re still going strong.

Legit Food! I lived in Hamilton for 3 years and can’t believe this was my first time here. I had shrimp with lobster sauce and it was delicious. I will definitely be back. I ordered takeout. I am going to go for lunch because it reminded me of my childhood when we would go out for Chinese food.

Pretty decent food! Doesn’t look like much from the outside but the inside is clean and staff members are quick and efficient. I recommend the shredded beef with peppers. Absolutely delicious! COVID comments as of October 2021. Everyone serving food in the restaurant is wearing masks which is nice. Not every single staff member is wearing one if they’re not directly serving anyone though. Still felt safe enough to take off my mask and enjoy the food and company!

Pretty decent restaurant, we ordered the Sichuan classic on the menu and most of the dishes are pretty authentic. The menu is pretty big with a lot of selections, I would suggest to go for the authentic ones such as yu xiang rou si, Sichuan cold noodle, and hai xian guo tie. The only dish tastes a bit different was jia Jiang mian. The flavor was not the same as when I tasted in Beijing but maybe Sichuan jia Jiang mian had a different recipe. Service is outstanding though.

My family andi I had a wonderful dinner there last night. We ordered beef noodles for the kids and for us – beef tripe cold appetizer, cumin lamb and beef in hot chili oil, and everything was delicious! The restaurant was spacious and cute and our servers were very attentive. It was a great experience and we look forward to visiting again soon. I highly recommend Szechuan House.
