Looking for Valentine’s dinner with family and came here as the places we wanted to go were packed. But so glad we did as the food was beyond expectation. We started out with the corn chowder soup ..excellent and best we’ve had anywhere. Ordered Salt and Pepper Fish with slices of onions and peppers, Orange Chicken with a tangy sweet unique flavor, honey walnut prawns, and shrimp fried rice. All were excellent and we’ll definitely be back. I’d drive across town just for the corn chowder.

I really wanted to like Chuan Fu Family Feast in Concord, but this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had.
The dishes — celery with tofu, twice-cooked pork, dry pot intestines, and spicy pig feet — were all poorly made. The food was mostly over-fried, flavorless, and even served cold inside.

The hygiene also seemed questionable, and honestly, this is not authentic food from my hometown.
We spent over $80 for two people and ended up with stomach issues afterward.

I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but people deserve to know the truth before visiting.

If you’re craving for or brave enough to try Szechuan dishes, this is the place for you.

Good and tasty selections, cooked well and plated nice and pretty. You can request to tone down the spiciness of the food to your liking.

If you’re looking for an authentic, flavor-packed Szechuan dining experience, Szechuan Garden in Concord is the place to be! From the moment you walk in, the interior immerses you in genuine Chinese charm, setting the perfect tone for a meal full of bold, traditional flavors. The Szechuan-style roast whole fish was a hit – perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spice who CAN handle it! It’s a bit on the fiery side, but the balance of flavors is incredible, and the spice level is more of a delightful challenge than a deterrent. The cucumber salad was light and refreshing, and the popcorn shrimp? Mmmmmm….we loved it so much we had to order it twice!

The service started off a little dry, but quickly turned into a warm, pleasant and even funny experience that matched the authenticity of the food. To top it all off, the complementary sesame balls served with tea in authentic China-wear were the perfect sweet ending. I couldn’t resist coming back the very next day, this time bringing new friends to share in the experience. Highly recommend this gem for anyone craving true Szechuan flavors!

Free parking, clean place, safe neighborhood. The food was ok. Portions were not really big, but adequate. My issue was with the chili peppers in the kung Pao chicken. As the picture shows, there was way too many – and this is not chewable, you need to set them aside. There were so many chili peppers , it occupied 1/3 of the tiny individual serving plate.

The food is ridiculously good. Like, flavors on point, not overly salty, everything light and tasty. Honestly this is hands down some of the best food in the area. And it’s really not expensive at all for the generous portions. I can’t wait to come back, such a great addition to the area. Definitely give it a try if you want what to me seemed like some of the most authentic Szechuan in the east bay.

Everything is great! From the service, to the environment, to the food!
We went there as a large group (over 10 people). Some can take spicy dishes while some cannot. We ordered a bunch of dishes with various styples:
steamed pork ribs
Braised sliced pork with Preserved Mustard
Mapo Tofu
Pickled vegetable with fish fillet soup
毛血旺
口水鸡
sesame balls

The food is really authentic and also the price is reasonable. We will definitely come back!

DELICIOUS. AUTHENTIC.FRESH. FAST. FLAVORFUL. I love love love this place! Sometimes you’re just craving good Chinese takeout, nothing fancy. Just good food, fast and uncomplicated. This place hits the spot.
I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good authentic Chinese food. Note: they DO NOT dial down the spice, so it’s not for the weak diner. Be prepared to be blasted with spicy Szechuan flavors, and please don’t complain about the spice level. We want them to NOT dumb it down.
