When I got my order, I went back to work to eat. The sandwich was terrible — old, dry bread with just two very thin slices of sweet potato and chunks of dry, tough pork thrown inside. It looked and tasted awful. The milkshake was even worse. I had already noticed the blender base sitting dirty in the sink, and instead of properly cleaning it, it seemed like she just rinsed it quickly and reused it. The shake tasted strange and unpleasant, and it ended up making me feel sick.
On top of that, the price was outrageous — $15.99 for a sandwich that in other places costs around $9 with much better quality and presentation.
Overall, the food, cleanliness, and customer service were all unacceptable. I will never go back, and I would warn others not to waste their money or risk their health here.
Also poor customer service- while we were waiting in line to order behind someone spending quite a while buying a lottery ticket, an older woman walked in, cut us in line, and her order was taken immediately.
No manjarblando more dough which taste old.
Why you sell old stuff???
10.00 to the trash!
owned store with that family energy to fit. We had picarones and a box of alfajores and they were amazing. We also came in super close to closing but they still went out of their way to make sure we got fresh picarones, which they didn’t have to do. Overall we plan on returning to have more Peruvian snacks.
The Papa rellena lacks of good taste….the salsa criolla did not have even Cilantro, lime juice nor spicies. Hire a better cook or train your cook in order to keep your base clientele and stay profitable or you will lose many demanding customers. We paid $42 x 1 Papa rellena, 2 small inka colas, and 2 small alfajores containers.
1 star is enough from this demanding customer.
Give me quality, and I would pay for tasty, well-done food, otherwise, I’m long gone and many more will follow.
Please go anywhere else but here. Save yourself the bad experience and waste of money.
I ordered desserts for takeout, and from the moment I walked in, the experience went downhill. The person who sold me the food was rude and dismissive. Then came the food—and it was downright disgusting.
I’m Peruvian. I know what Peruvian food is supposed to be. This wasn’t just bad—it was inedible. I have a hard time imagining how any genuine Peruvian could taste this and believe it’s remotely authentic, let alone good.
The alfajores were revolting. When I finally took a good look at them at home, I had to throw them away. They were buried under spoonfuls of powdered sugar when they’re supposed to have a light dusting. Even that couldn’t cover how dry and stale they were. The “manjar” inside wasn’t even real manjar. It was a crusty, dried-out substitute that could literally be peeled off in a hard, rubbery slab—like a caramel hockey puck. And there was barely any of it to begin with.
Then came the picarones—$10 for a few pieces that smelled like onions. Yes, onions. The smell was nauseating and hit before I even took a bite. I can only assume they reused oil from savory dishes, which is unhygienic and inexcusable.
They have a strict “no refunds” policy—and that makes sense. They know their food is bad, and they need to protect themselves from how often people must complain.
This place isn’t worth a single dollar, let alone the $10 they’re charging for these inedible abominations they dare to label as Peruvian desserts. Rude service, disgusting food, questionable hygiene, and zero accountability. A complete scam.
This was the most expensive Peruvian food I’ve ever paid for—and without question, the worst I’ve ever had.
