When considering all factors I rate this place a solid 4 stars. The customer service we received was great! Wait times, water refill, and overall approach was stellar. The atmosphere is about cookie cutter as any Thai place. The food portions were large and tasty. I’d say the taste are more generic and will attract a bigger audience. The menu selection was larger than expected. It lacked a more authentic punch; not a bad thing as that might scare off a few. Based on the foot traffic we saw and the amount of to go orders pick up this looks like a popular place. I found the price points to be quite reasonable for Birmingham. Yes, I’d give these guys a thumbs up and recommendation.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in all of Birmingham. Solid lunch choices and even larger dinner portions all at wonderful prices. Super friendly staff that always goes the extra mile. I had the pad Thai with the Tom yum soup and spring rolls and it hit the spot as always. 5 star experience in my book and I will return soon.

We ordered from here through door dash and it was the worst food order I have ever had. One of our items was completely missing. We asked for no peanuts and our order had peanuts. The worst thing though was that the chicken satay arrived raw. I have never had this happen in my life. We called the restaurant and they said there was nothing they could do because we ordered through door dash. Avoid this restaurant. We will never order from here again.

I haven’t ordered Sy Thai in a while because the last time I ordered I was disappointed.
But my daughters really wanted it today so we ordered. We all got the same thing Pad Thai with chicken … I’m not exaggerating there is barely any chicken in any of them … we’ve had to dig around to find some … not exaggerating there are 5 bite size pieces of chicken in here.
I’ll never spend another dollar there again. I’ll be ordering from somewhere else for now on.
I get it, and have resolved to the fact that getting quality and/or good service these days is rare. So I’m pretty easy going about things but this is just ridiculous.
I do not recommend any Thai if you’re looking for a good Thai meal.

While the hospitality during my recent visit was excellent, I was disappointed with the quality of the food.
We ordered the Yum Ka Lum Pee with chicken, but the chicken appeared to be boiled in water with the cabbage. Additionally, the Pad Thai was overly sweet and the chicken was bland and lacked flavor.
Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience.

Nice quaint little place downtown Birmingham. This Thai place is really delicious and praise worthy! Food is fresh and there is something for every diet, restriction and limited spice palate! The menu has a huge variety to pick from and if you see a dish you like, you can even personalize it by omitting an ingredient or adding ingredients. The waiter was very resourceful and knowledgeable to recommend dishes and heat level that we would like. Be prepared to feed the meter as it’s only 1 hour parking and you’ll need to go back out to extend your time. Well worth it for the flavorful food you get!

Ok by way of background, I worked in Bangkok and Chix Pad Thai was my favorite do I’m always looking to find best here near me in Troy. Sadly the Hamilton Row Sy Thai failed miserably – no authentic taste, no hint of the essential tamarind paste. Slightly better was Bangkok Bistro, Orchid Cafe much better and the best, surprisingly, was the mostly carryout Flaming Thai. If you’re near Dearborn, Bangkok 96 is the best
