They used to be good but never got the memo that Covid is over. So they still limit access. Simple answer:?we don’t go any more.
It isn’t like there chocolate was worth waiting for anyway.

Nice boutique candy shop in historic downtown Truckee. Plenty of handmade candies and other dessert items to choose from. A lot of first timers asking questions, so sometimes service can be slow (not because of the staff). Parking on the weekends can be a challenge.

Grumpy staff ruins the experience. Overpriced, mediocre chocolate meant to trap tourists. Interesting that nothing has clearly marked prices and they keep the scale on the back counter and away from customers’ view when they measure it out, and just come up with a (absurd) price – a likely violation of CA weights and measures requirements.

I wasn’t very thrilled with the experience. Right when you enter, they’re still doing Covid social distancing 4 years later…
Now it would be fine if their chocolate was decent, but our orange chocolate we bought was rock hard.
Service could use some improvement.

Candy apple coated with chewy caramel with fragrant dark chocolate and sea salt. Love the caramel, so maybe the original flavour candy apple ($8.95) will do. Rather pricey, this was for $14.95.

There are many kinds of chocolate. Each chocolate pairs differently with other flavors. This is where Chocolatier (Chef of Chocolate) Preston Lillo is skilled in pairing chocolate and caramel with other flavors around the world. He has two locations which he visits everyday. If your lucky you will get to meet him when you visit and he loves to discuss this process of making truffles and fudge along with other goodies. He truly has that passion to achieve perfection. We tried 12 different truffles and 6 different fudges. You can’t go wrong with here. Fun to find the flavors you like best. I want to thank Preston for taking the time to explain his process. We enjoyed all we brought home. So, check out one of his locations.

WONderful chocolates and sweets!!! The staff was very helpful and answered all our questions. When we got done we must have spent over $100 because everything looks so good! The turtles are absolutely Divine and so are the honeycomb chocolate. Also one of my favorites was the caramel squares chocolate-covered of course. We went up and down the shopping plaza all day and it was a nice way to end the day by going to the Sweet Shop and bring you home chocolate

The smell of fresh chocolate brought me in off the sidewalk, and I was greeted by friendly staff. I ended up getting a variety of chocolates, and was not disappointed. The truffles really stood out the most though – they taste just as good as they look.

The best caramel ever . It’s a shame that the staff ( an old and tall guy ) is very rude and keeps rushing the customers. whenever we visit the city we like to stop at this store but unfortunatelly is the second time that the same thing happen .
