When you walk in, there is usually a line of people who are waiting patiently for their time to order food.

They have a buffet style setup and the portion seems to be a good value. The service seems to be straight forward and organized.
Each day seems to specifically serve a particular entree.

Monday – still a big liver turkey wings and lima beans.
Tuesday – meatloaf recognize cocktail mashed potatoes green beans.
Wednesday – hamburger steak chicken and dumplings oxyole baby limes to feel peas and succotash
Thursday – barbecue Red Sox tails turkey necks Red beans
Friday – beef tips oxtail BBQ ribs and speckled butter beans
Saturday – hamburger steak turkey wings oxtails baby alignment and succotash
Sunday – smothered pork chop oxtail BBQ ribs in Ford hook lima beans.

So far everything seems to be truly Southern cooked, seasoned well.

You get an entree with two sides and a tea.

I am writing this review on behalf of the University of Mobile’s Gospel Ensemble Dunamis! Ms. Sweetie and her amazing crew to great care of us. From the communication to the food all was done with excellence and joy. They were extremely detailed and helpful with our catering order and even walked out all of the pans and loaded them into our car. That meant so much to us. All of our guest enjoyed the food so much and were talking about it all night. Our Faculty and Staff in the music department have visited and dined in on numerous occasions and it will always be a place where we fellowship and commune with one another! Ms. Sweetie you have blessed us so much with your passion for your craft and it shows in every bite of your food!

Me and a coworker stopped by this establishment for lunch. The vibes were cool and the server was sweet also. We came on Pork chop day. They had several options but I wanted to try the red beans and rice and green beans with a pork chop. The Koolaid is amazing. Now I took mine to go and I must say that it wasn’t as flavorful as it looked. It did lack the season which I would have preferred, the pork chop was so thick but it was ok also. I will go back and try them again hopefully it’s better next time around.

My experience at this place was terrible.
Employees provided horrible service and only serve certain foods at certain times of the day with no menu presented to the customers.
They were ready to charge people without completing the order.
Meat was served dry with barely any gravy.
Buffet was too small in general.
Only good points they had were the vegetables, if they had any, and a long with the cakes.
Truly a waste of $60 for a $10 experience.

In all honesty, I would recommend going to Cozy Browns Kitchen, especially on Sunday, for better food, better service, and a much better experience.

My husband and I came to this restaurant for the first time we initially started to go to Cozy Brown but he turned around because I had mentioned that we should try Sweeties. I should’ve not said anything and let him keep driving, I hate that because I like to try new places unfortunately we’ll never come back. We arrived there was another couple there sitting down eating I caught a look at the plate and saw the macaroni that looked so dry instant turn off for me . The server was very sweet , Friendly and the place was clean from what I could see that’s all I can say on a good note . As far as the food it’s a absolute no for us , rice , navy beans were down to the bottom of the pan literally so why is it still there not looking right because it’s just sitting. Macaroni look dry and crunchy on top like overcooked I say that because previous photos I’ve seen for Mac & cheese didn’t look like what we saw and we love bake Mac & cheese. The rice no flavor but taste like water, cabbage was also lacking flavor and salisbury steak was big and thick but was lacking flavor, what I couldn’t understand was someone came out from the kitchen and added water to I guess they call it gravy. I told my husband that’s probably why I kept saying to myself why do this rice taste like water and why is it so thin now I see why. But the problem with this again the whole time there she never came out with fresh food on the water being poured in the beans and the water down gravy , my husband said Morrisons Salisbury steak taste much better. We ate some of our food at the restaurant and took the rest home, now this is another problem once again why did I have to go home and season and recook this food myself to actually like it. When my husband finally ate his food it had already started tasting sour never had this ever happen to us.
I’m not sure if we came on a bad day or a bad time but that experience completely messed it up for us and $40 just wasn’t worth it.

Just tried most of the menu with my family. This is excellent soul food made with real love. The owner and chef were so kind. Their garlic mac & cheese was some of the best I’ve ever had. We hope they thrive. Can’t wait to come back.

Had lunch today here and we were not impressed. First of all the music was too loud and the lady serving the food could mot hear what we were ordering. It took several times of telling her before she got it right and then she seemed impatient with us. I asked for extra gravy on the potatoes and she seemed peeved with that also. The food was lacking flavor and seasoning and the salt shaker on the table was empty. There are only two things I can say good about our experience – that the young lady who checked us out was friendly and the Kool-Aid was good.

This is the absolutely best tasting cafeteria-style southern food in the area by far! Everyone is always friendly, the restaurant is always clean, and the food is always hot and tasty! Don’t hesitate to give Sweetie’s a try! It’s worth the drive!

The food was very tasty. The macaroni had good flavor. The meatloaf was good. The cabbage had proper seasoning. The pinto beans were nice and juicy with flavor. The place was clean. It actually is a very cute decorative place. Not a lot of seating, but it is a place where you can really have a nice quiet country hometown meal. I highly recommend this place!!
Come to Sweeties!!!!!
