Sweetgreen is my go-to when I want a quick, light, clean, and healthy lunch, especially on days when I have a heavier dinner planned. Their ingredients are local (some), organic (most part), and fresh, and the ability to customize your meal and get it within minutes is a huge plus.

I usually get the Caesar salad and mix it with their phenomenal pesto dressing, which is only 80 calories but still packed with flavor. I also add tomatoes and cabbage for extra color and crunch. Their chicken breast is great, but I feel like the protein portions are on the smaller side, so I always order double chicken to make it more filling. I’ve also tried their salmon multiple times, and while it’s mediocre in California, it’s actually much better in Seattle for some reason.

Vibe – modern, casual and clean!

One small perk I enjoy is getting the bread on the side—my kids love it, and it’s a nice little extra. The food here is super healthy, and while it’s not a place I get excited about, it’s a solid choice for a quick and nutritious meal without having to meal prep. Four stars!

Sweetgreen in Newport Beach is like stepping into a salad shop designed by the Jetsons but stocked by Alice Waters. The sleek automation system is almost hypnotic to watch—bowls zipping along on a track, laser-focused precision behind glass—but the magic is that the ingredients still feel lovingly handpicked. It’s a wild and wonderful contrast: cutting-edge tech delivering hyper-fresh, locally sourced produce.

You get your lunch with the speed of a futuristic vending machine, but it tastes like it came from a coastal farm stand. They’re working with local growers, staying seasonal, and keeping everything vibrant—crunchy kale, warm wild rice, perfectly roasted sweet potatoes, and dressings that actually taste like they were made that morning.

It’s a beautiful collision of old-school values and new-world convenience. Service is fast but friendly, the space is clean and inviting, and the overall experience leaves you oddly optimistic about what fast food could become. Sweetgreen in Newport Beach isn’t just feeding people, it’s quietly upgrading the whole idea of lunch. Five stars, easily.

Just visited on their soft opening. Service was impecable. Lots of options to order via app, kiosk, or with a Sweetgreen team member.

Their “Infinite Kitchen” automates your food prep. You always get exactly what you ordered, exactly the same amounts, and there’s super low risk of cross contamination. The automated assembly is also insanely fast. I watched my bowl being made and brought to me in under 3 minutes.

Plenty of gluten free, paleo, keto, dairy free, and grain free options. The Salmon and both chicken options are tasty.

Honestly for the price and the fact that a machine makes your food…i wouldn’t do it. Its already expensive enough as it is and then they have an option to tip? No thank you… also their salads are subpar your better off going to Mendocino next door and getting their avocado quinoa salad! And its much cheaper!

First time here. Ordered the caramelized garlic steak and my dad had the hot honey chicken, both very good. Friendly staff and efficient. Nice find.

There’s just something about a machine making your food that makes it not appetizing. Personal service always feels warmer and more inviting.

Overall a stale environment

So happy we have a sweet green at Fashion island now! I just had the balsamic vinaigrette goat cheese harvest bowl and it was so good! There are a lot of flavors going on in this bowl so I don’t even know where to begin! Simply delicious and I am glad it’s also healthy. They give really big portions which is great because now I also have something left for dinner tonight. Also their service was amazing and the guy who helped us was super sweet.

I have been to sweetgreens all over the place and this is by far the worst! There isn’t a salad bar, the service is non-existent, and there is just no way to communicate with the employees. On top of that my bread was so stale that it was crunchy and I had to throw it away (no it wasn’t toasted) and the avocado was completely brown. Since there wasn’t a bar you wouldn’t know that until you already open your order. Also another salad we had the spinach was yellow, how does that happen?

Every sweetgreen across different states had been consistently good, with salad bar and at least some service, but this was awful! I’ve never been so one so soulless

this was my first time going to sweetgreen, i ordered the salmon bowl after asking for recommendations from the staff. one of the workers Armando was welcoming and engaging and took the time to explain their “Infinite Kitchen” to me! i sat outside and another worker, Jay, checked in on me as he wiped down tables. some of the friendliest service i’ve ever had.

This location was a night-and-day difference from the first Sweetgreen location we tried at Victoria Gardens. It felt cold and sterile, with no greetings from any employees, and machines making the salads. Additionally, this location uses self-checkout, and all of the available tables were dirty. The portions were insanely small—think four tiny cubes of cucumber and the equivalent of half a chicken tender—and the chicken tasted like it came from a can, with the texture of tuna. I would never return to this location.
