After a bad experience trying to eat breakfast there when 2 waitresses said we couldn’t order off the menu, that bad experience was MORE than made up by the GM, Josue and our waiter, Claudio. Josue contacted us to apologize for the experience and welcomed us back for breakfast. We are so glad we returned at his request. The food was delicious and the environment on the outside patio was very beautiful. Our waiter Claudio, was very nice and made sure we were well taken care of. We will definitely return in the Fall when we visit the resort again. We recommend the avocado toast, the burger, and the pancakes!

Tried this for the first time and the food was great. Had a venison burger and Mac and cheese. Not many there at the time I went but the waiter was very nice. A relaxing place to get some nice food. It cost quite a bit more given the location but I don’t think anyone will be disappointed in the food. You can try some more rare things you cannot get at a typical restaurant as well like Quail eggs, Elk, or Antelope

I hate leaving this review because I love the La Cantera Resort. It’s a beautiful location, they host amazing events, and it’s a great place for travelers and locals to hang out. You really feel like you’re removed from the city.

I had the lamb chops and they were outstanding. The cucumber ribbon, marinated watermelon salad was amazing. The staff are attentive and caring. The view outside is fantastic. I highly recommend, for a romantic dinner with your partner or a special night with your family. Kids are not out of place here.

Paul was our server and he was wonderful! I had the snapper and my friend and I shared the antelope appetizer. Both were suggestions from Paul and did not disappoint.

My wife and I went here for our anniversary. Excellent experience. Our waitress was witty and funny and kept good tabs on us. The chef prepared our food extremely well. No real complaints. This is an upscale restaurant, and one that should be reserved for special events.

Food was nice, if a bit overpriced. Service was good, with a nice waiter. However, the cooks took exceptionally long to make the food, to the point that the waiters were lingering by the kitchen impatiently. I personally don’t know if it would be worth to come back since the food took so long.

Everything was delicious at La Contera Resort and Spa – Sweetfire Kitchen. If you haven’t been, try it on Easter, Mother’s Day or Father’s Day for a better brunch food selection!! You won’t be disappointed with the food, food staff and the price point isn’t too bad for the food quality and quantity. I’m not normally the buffet type but the staff does an excellent job with keeping it hot / cold and fresh!! Also, with several fresh – cooked to taste food stations including 2 omelet stations, desert station with home made ice cream, waffles/ pancakes, Eggs Benedict, Pasta and Cheese, Gourmet Cheeses and more! My five rating is merely for the food, serving staff and ambiance. The hostesses are a bit of a different story! My first job at 16 was at restaurant and that included being a hostess and after owning and operating 6 different restaurants in 40 yrs, I definitely get it!! These girls haven’t a clue and their attitudes are less than desirable but don’t let that discourage you. They have failed making my reservations on more than one occasions which causes me heartburn before eating but with such great fresh food don’t let the stop you from this wonderful food experience. Also check out their patio. Great place to eat. Enjoy!

Excellent Easter brunch. Brought in Bugs Bunny as the Easter bunny from the nearby Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Country carving stations, an omelet bar to order, a raw bar with whiskers and shrimp, an array of brunch buffet food, a slew of pastries and desserts and several breads and grains. They hosted a wonderful Easter egg hunt for the little ones was plenty of eggs and lots of fun. Gorgeous setting, great service, awesome experience and will be returning.

my bf was craving steak for dinner after the gym so we ended up here via open table coz it was the only table available around the area. They were selling very overpriced steaks for the atmosphere. so my bf got chicken instead. Felt like chili’s to me I ended up just ordering pork chop which was fantastic. It doesn’t come with a side for $30 so I got myself the mac and cheese. Limited dinner menu in my opinion. Service is excellent, food is subpar. Chicken was dry.
