I have been coming here since the 80s. The owner-John-has always been friendly, Larry was there in the 80s as a server and is still there as a manager and is as friendly and helpful as he was in the past. Every server I’ve ever had has been friendly and efficient. The food is always excellent-warm biscuits, egg scramblers, key lime pie. And I LOVE the garden seating.

We stopped in for brunch and absolutely loved it. The eggs Benedict were delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Beyond the food, the vibe of this place really stands out. The café is filled with fun, beachy, quirky, and genuinely funny signs all over the space, which made it such a joy to look around.

There’s also a lovely back patio with lots of tables and chairs, beautifully decorated and relaxed—perfect for lingering over brunch. One of the highlights was getting to meet the owner,John, who was fascinating to talk with and shared so much about the history of the place. You can really feel the heart and personality behind this café.

Great food, great atmosphere, and wonderful people. We’ll definitely be back!

Had an incredible and delicious breakfast while visiting Madeira Beach for the holiday season. This is a local favorite and I can certainly understand why! The vibe is great, the staff always smiling and courteous, the service was fast and they always came back to check on things or refill a coffee. Go once and you’ll be hooked!!!

So glad we found this gem while on vacation! We stopped at a few breakfast joints to scan their menu and prices and none were as appealing as Sweet Sage Cafe! I just knew from the exterior that this place was going to be good! The staff are extremely pleasant, the food was delicious and at such a fair price! The interior was quaint, fun and cozy all at the same time. Can’t wait to visit again. 10/10⭐️

We had a wonderful experience here! The breakfast was absolutely delicious – fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The place itself is stunning and very photogenic, with a lovely atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer and take it all in.

What really made our visit special was the incredibly friendly and welcoming service. The staff were attentive, warm, and genuinely caring. We’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a great breakfast in a beautiful setting.

Well the food was less than exciting for the prices. Biscuit was rock hard… as advertised creamy eggs were hard. Grits undercooked but cold.
Bacon was absolute rock
Plastic throw away cup for water at a 10.00 to 20.00 plate…can’t get a glass glass? You put on a 5 star show for a 2 star meal.

I will say its a cute spot. But if you are going to dress up like you are headed to Sunday service to greet folks, put the time in on the food.

Our first local meal on vacation and a waste.

Perfection! From the second you walk in the door to a warm welcome and escort to a table. The garden is so quirky and fun with awesome details everywhere well worth a photo! The service is great and the food is just as good! Food was so quick to come out and drinks were yummy! I’m a restauraunt manager from Pennsylvania and was highly impressed/slightly humbled by the level of service you recieve here. This was our last stop before headed home and I’m grateful it was, what an amazing breakfast. We’ll be back! Thank you!

Love this place. Decorated so cute. Outdoor seating hidden in the back. Beautiful and fun things to look at everywhere. Even on the bathroom. They sell things in the restaurant and the boutique next door. Incredible menu too. Will want to keep going back again and again.

Update… Downside. They do not even entertain a military discount. I usually like to go to places that support our military. When I ask the tall gentleman about it he said they don’t have any way to differentiate and it was taken advantage of. I told him all you have to do is ask for somebody’s military card and he walked away. Not cool. Lowering from five stars to three
