OUTSTANDING!!!!! Alllll of our food was amazing. I love the at home feel of this place. We ordered Liver & Onions, fried chicken quarter with mac cheese, yams and Lima beans! The best I’ve had since moving to Atlanta in 2013!!!! The yams were perfectly sweet and you could taste the spices. Lima beans were perfection!!! My sister got the turkey spaghetti and loved it as well.

I wish I lived closer so I can frequent more often…. But whenever I’m in the area, I’ll be stopping by to get food!

It was my first time visiting, and thank goodness the food was delicious because the customer service was horrible. The gentleman who assisted me had a noticeable attitude and did not make a great first impression for the business. Friendly service goes a long way, especially for first-time guests.
On a positive note, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The fried chicken breast was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The green beans and pinto beans were seasoned just right. The wait time was about 20 minutes, which is pretty average for a freshly prepared meal.
Despite the service experience, I will definitely return for the food.

I had my husband go back to this restaurant since I had seen it earlier when my son in law dropped his car fir servicing next door. He was going to go somewhere else for soul food, but I told him to give this place a try. The food was good…I ordered the grilled salmon..it was good, but the mac and cheese and yams were delicious. My husband had the fried pork chop..he just wish they gave him 2..he enjoyed his sides as well..yams and the dressing. We will definitely be going back. Give this restaurant a try…

I ordered the meatloaf with yams and lima beans. The cornbread and yams were on point and the Lima beans were so so. However my biggest disappointment was the meatloaf ( beef) . It looked good in the tray but when arrived back to my job ( which is only 5 minutes away). The meatloaf was dry with no texture. It taste as if someone took it out the refrigerator and put into a microwave and served it to me. Based on the reviews I was really excited but came away disappointed . Don’t take my word, give it a try for yourself. I make give it one more try because of the convenience to my job. However this time I will try the chicken or pork chops. I will update my post if I decide to go back.

This was my first time at Sweet Sadie May’s and she didn’t disappoint! Everything me and my son ordered was delicious. And the price was good for all the food we got. Staff was so nice and welcoming. The atmosphere was cozy. Could definitely use an AC but it was comfortable enough. Only waited 20 minutes for my food. I ordered the jerk BBQ chicken and the meat was smoked to perfection and falling off the bone. The sauce was a perfect balance between spicy and sweet. I also suggest getting the blackeyed peas. They were delish. I will definitely be returning– especially since they have so many turkey meat options!! Hard to find a soulfood restaurant where the meat options aren’t mostly just pork or beef.

I went to this mom and Pop shop and it gave all the thoughts and knots toward African heritage as a soulful restaurant. They were personable and the owner and chef was a sweet older woman. The best thing that I ate was the yams followed by the macaroni and cheese, those were quite tasty and paired. The greens were fairly decent and the fish were just all right. The portions were good. I would be back to try other dishes.

I go here more so for convenience due to location. I do feel they could improve in customer service. The hot water cornbread is very flaky and no form. The pork batter is also flaky. Again, if you’re on the go and need something convenient, they’ll do.

My review is beyond late but I had to still stop by. I went here on a recommendation, it was about a 30 min drive from where I stay so I was really nervous about wasting my time, gas, and money lol… BUTTTTT I was not disappointed upon arrival. Service was quick, pleasant, took about 10-15 to get our food; it was hot and fresh. I got to meet one of the owners (or family of) and they were easygoing, humble people. The food was good! We got the Turkey wing meal and the Meatloaf meal (I couldn’t take the best pics of the meatloaf plate cause my mom was ready to chow down lol), we sat and ate a bit before taking it home to devour. I def will be back again! I gotta get some more of that meatloaf (I had a taste of my moms and wanted to trade meals lol) and try a few other items!

Been a few times, the menu changes daily. A hidden gem in Rex. The owner is humble, friendly, and appreciative. Don’t come in a hurry. I tried several things, all good. Their veggies and cornbread taste fresh, homemade, and good. Hearty portion sizes and fair pricing. Thier neck bones hands down better than your mamma’s. I can’t wait to go back to try other things. Thank me later

I drove all the way from downtown ATL to try this place and they did not disappoint! EVERYTHING WAS GOOD! It’s hard to find true soul food that taste like home (I’m from the deep South). I had the fried fish, cabbage, mac & cheese and yams. EVERYTHING was a 100/10. No complaints! I will be back to support this black owned business. Go get you some!
