My wife and I entered the restaurant and not seated. The employee “Andy” wanted us to choose items from the menu on the counter instead of seating us with menus. More than half the items on the menu were not available.
After placing the order to my surprise, the employee wanted payment up front. The employee continue to request payment BEFORE we were seated and BEFORE the meal was served.
The employee goes on to say that’s the policy of the restaurant. Which I hope is untrue and this establishment is not racist.
My wife and I went across the street.

Thrilled to see a trendy new spot open nearby—a place I’d typically have to travel for. Turns out, I’ll keep traveling because proximity doesn’t make up for $14 “soup dumplings” that arrive on foil, bursting before they even hit the table. (Spoiler: no soup, just soggy disappointment.)
The decor screams “Instagram bait,” but functionality? Not so much. One lonely napkin dispenser serves the whole place, which is a fun scavenger hunt if you’re into that. Bathrooms are surprisingly luxurious, though—almost worth the trip if you’re in need of a posh pit stop.
Service is hit or miss. Utensils? Optional, apparently, depending on who you are. The table behind us got theirs without asking; we had to fend for ourselves. But hey, if you’ve got money to burn and a taste for overpriced mediocrity, this might just be your new go-to.

Not sure why anyone would leave a 1 star review the week of opening… However, 2 of us went tonight at 6, made a reservation, but didn’t need to (more of a canteen order setting. It’s the old Currito setup). Ordered the shrimp siu mai (our favorite), the “fantasy four”, veggie spring rolls and a few sweet ones. The best being the coconut cake dumplings.
Staff were fantastically attentive, food piping hot, and very clean restrooms – all leading to a very happy (and full) mother and daughter. Thank you, we will be back.

I got the lucky five soup dumplings and the mango passionfruit fruit tea. Both were very good. The tea is sweet and excellent for slow sipping. The dumplings were delicious. I enjoyed each one. The broth was flavorful and they each had a distinct flavor.

I was going to go somewhere else for lunch but I saw this dim sum place and I love dim sum so I thought I’d try it out. It was very underwhelming and the service was lacking. There were almost no clean silverware available in the place. No napkins. I had to just wipe my mouth with my hand. Soup dumplings fell apart and I couldn’t really consume them. I was bummed.

Many of the menu are ‘sold out’ (not available). Available dim sum are so-so at best. Not satisfied for price. Mochi donuts were delicious though.

I’ve been here about 4 times because I love dim sum and this is the only option in Oak Park. The food is pleasant, probably the best they could do with what seems like a very minimal kitchen and cooking staff. I like the sticky rice best. Food quality can’t compare with any place in China town or the Ming Hin chain which has several suburban locations. I’m afraid there are very few customers for this business – it’s usually empty which I think reflects the not great value proposition of the food because there’s a lot of foot traffic on Lake St. I would
like to see them improve food quality and expand the menu rather than go out of business but maybe it’s not possible in this small restaurant. I think a full scale Dim Sum place with Chinatown quality food would do well in Oak Park.
