This restaurant has a fabulous location that looks down the Swan River to it’s outlet into the ocean. The interior is a bit rustic and Spartan, but bright. The views of the river are visible from all throughout the restaurant and the small outside deck.
It’s a casual place so you can come as you are. We didn’t see many kids while we were there, but it seemed kid friendly.
The offerings are typical Cape seafood at Cape prices. That said, they know how to prepare it to perfection and the portions are fair. I’d love to see a wider selection of appetizers and desserts, but the main courses are delicious.

Second and last time we will ever get takeout from this place. Second time tonight was worse than two nights ago. The other night we ordered three 2 lb lobsters with fries and an order of steamers. All three lobsters were overcooked and tough to chew. We spent a lot and should have gotten what we paid for. They also didn’t give us any ketchup for three orders of fries. Fast forward to tonight, gave them another chance. Mistake. Again the lobsters were overcooked and tough to chew, but they didn’t even give us any butter for them. Absolutely ridiculous. Only gave butter for the steamers. And look at the tiny potions of fries we received this time. Looks like someone ate most of them and gave us leftovers. Oh and when I placed the order, I specifically asked for ketchup, she repeated it back to me. And look here, we did not get ketchup again. Well we’re done spending money at this place. Stay away from them.

We had our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks at Swan River and it was one of my favorite parts of our wedding weekend!! We met with Marita a year ago to see the restaurant and after speaking with her for about 5 minutes we booked it on the spot! She was so welcoming and accommodating I had zero worries about our event! She set us up in the main bar area and the dining room directly off of the bar. Great with communication and she reached out a couple weeks before the day to finalize counts and food choices. The day of, she let us come in early with our decor to set up and was there to help. The night of, we arrived and the food was delicious, staff was great, and timing of the rest of the dinner was fantastic. I think they had another rehearsal dinner going on in another part of the restaurant, but I didn’t even notice because we had great service and the set up of the restaurant was perfect. Also have to mention that the view is beautiful. When we shifted into our welcome drinks, we had about 120 people roll in. Everyone had a blast and the staff handled it with ease. Would highly recommend for any event and I am looking forward to going back for dinner during our future Cape visits!! Thank you!!

I appreciate the hard working staff and beautiful views at Swan River, but the food fell flat considering the plating, taste, and prices. Our oysters had shards of shells that got stuck in our mouths as we tried to eat them which is may I say, awful. The caprese salad was a stack of beefsteak tomato slices with mozzarella balls layered in between and one leaf of basil. It looked like a tomato hamburger and tasted bland. Boyfriend ordered shrimp scampi and I ordered the fish n chips (with mashed potatoes instead of fries.) Prices were between $25-$35 per plate and just didn’t hold a candle to other eateries we’ve been to that offer similar dishes at the same (or lower) prices.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Swan River Restaurant and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. We worked with Marita, who was absolutely incredible. She went above and beyond to make the night seamless and special, always calm, patient, and so easy to work with. Her communication throughout the process was top-notch, and she made everything stress-free. The evening turned out beautifully, and our guests raved about the food, service and atmosphere. We highly recommend Marita and Swan River Restaurant for any special event!

We recently used Swan River for our wedding reception, and they were the absolute perfect choice. Marita was incredibly accommodating and understanding of all our requests and asks. The staff on the evening of the wedding were so kind, patient, and attentive, and made the night just incredible.
The food was also amazing, especially the steak and the chowder. The location on the bay allowed for some beautiful pictures leading up to sunset. In all, we could not have asked for a better venue, and we will always be thankful to the team for making our night so unforgettable.

We come to the Cape every summer and always stop into the Swan River restaurant. The clam chowder is perfect, and beach bread is cheesy and savory. The waitstaff are always pleasant and quick to check on us. We went twice this time only because we went daytripping to other places. If you are in DennisPort, this place is a great place for a great seafood dinner.

We came just after they started serving tables outside by the water. The view is fantastic if the weather is great. The food was fantastic and hot but the service and speed was not great. It’s a long walk from the kitchen to the seating so the poor wait staff have a ton of walking to do. Because of this you need to have different expectations. We rarely saw our waitress but she was very pleasant and apologized for the long wait. The tables were cleaned after each use and spaced far from each other. I was thankful to have the chance to sit with the family and enjoy the outdoors and great seafood. I hope you have as great a time – even if it’s slow.

We chose the Swan River to host our wedding rehearsal dinner in September and are so glad we did. We were roughly 20 people that fit perfectly on the outside deck overlooking the best sunset. The food and service were exceptional as always and made our special night one to remember. Huge thank you to Marita and all the staff. We would recommend Swan River to any other couple looking to have a rehearsal dinner here!

Amazing! The drinks where perfect…Tito’s and cranberry w lime had the right amount of all and that’s hard to do… the Riesling was light, crisp and perfect. We had the cape cod seafood medley and the lobster Mac n cheese. It was fresh and the chunks of lobster in the Mac n cheese were huge!
Maureen the awesome redhead was a real treat, funny, full of stories and local information. She suggested to finish with the Sand bar dessert and she was on point, amazingly good! A must come come back. Thank you!
