I’m so glad I found this adorable little place.

I love good Indian food.
Unfortunately, there are many average Indian joints but very very few really good ones. This place is one of those.

First of, I love the atmosphere and energy inside. It’s perfect for date night or an evening out with close friends.
tastefully decorated, warm ambiance and cozy layout with rocking Feng Shui going on. Nice.
Careful, it you get a window seat you might not wanna leave.

The Veggie Pakoras were splendid. So much flavour, crispy in all the right places and flaky in the centre. Truly what Pakoras are known for…A must piece in an Indian dish.

The Butter Chicken.
Very simple. Once I finished the perfectly cooked chicken, I took the sauce home. Yes, that’s how good it was. I couldn’t waste it.
The same with the Lamb Hyderabadi. The lamb chunks actually tasted like lamb…..awesome. That famous lamb taste lingering on your palate until you chase it down with their yummy mint yogurt.

Service? First Class.

Honestly, I’m really looking forward to going back for dinner.
Actually excited to try the rest of their fantastic menu.

Swad. A Gold Star For You.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Incredible Late Valentine’s Dinner at Swad!
I visited Swad Indian Kitchen for their Dine The Villages special event, and it was the perfect way to celebrate a late Valentine’s Day.
The Kachumber Salad was a great, fresh start to the meal. For the main courses, the Mango Chicken was absolutely delicious with the perfect hint of sweetness, and the Goan Fish Curry was incredibly flavorful and authentic. Both paired perfectly with the Biryani rice.
Everything was so yummy, and the $45 set menu is a fantastic deal for the quality of food you get in West Vancouver. Highly recommend for a special night out!.

you are looking for the true, authentic taste of India, Swad Indian Kitchen is a must-visit. The menu has a large selection to choose from, but there are a few absolute standouts. The Cauliflower 65 is one of the best I’ve ever had unlike other places that over-rely on vinegar/citric acid, this was perfectly balanced and flavorful.
For mains, the Malai Kofta and Paneer Reshmi were by far the most delicious versions I’ve tasted in Vancouver. I also loved the presentation; the dishes are served over a light flame to keep them hot throughout the meal. Pair everything with their perfectly flaky Laccha Paratha. Beyond the food, I was in awe of the hospitality. You can tell this is a family-run business the owners make you feel truly welcome.

Fantastic Indian food in a beautiful, elegant setting. The saffron grilled prawns, lamb curry, chicken Chettinad, and fried calamari were all excellent. Our server Reema was attentive and gave great recommendations, and her ginger-tini was amazing. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place!

Swad Indian Kitchen has been a gem in the West Vancouver (Ambleside) neighbourhood since 2015. It’s easy to see why! ✨

This spot is perfect for any celebration with friends or family. The decor is warm, elegant, and welcoming (upscale but never pretentious). You instantly feel cozy the moment you walk in. ️

Swad specializes in North Indian cuisine, known for its rich, creamy flavours and aromatic spices. It was truly an unforgettable dining experience.

What we tried:
Chicken Lollipops
Prawn Coconut Curry
Veg Pulao
Lamb Methi
Butter Naan
Gulab Jamun
Mango Lassi
Indian Cosmopolitan

Every dish was delicious, but the Prawn Coconut Curry was the standout — creamy, flavourful, and perfectly balanced for those who enjoy a mild curry.

Good food, great atmosphere, and warm hospitality! If you ever find yourself on the North Shore craving Indian food, Swad Indian Kitchen is a must-try!

This is a fantastic place to celebrate a special occasion or to catch up with friends. The space is charming, cozy and elegant. We had amazing service when we visited as well. Everyone made us feel truly taken care of during our visit.

We enjoyed many things on the menu! Loved the fish pakoras, matter paneer and dal turka. We hope to come back again soon!

The daal shorba was simple and soothing. Reshami paneer was a bit on the sweeter side despite us checking with the staff before ordering that it’s not sweet. They gave us some hot sauce to compensate but then they charged us for that too. Quantity of paneer was less based on the price.

Good Indian food, excellent service, beautiful presentation, and a cozy interior. Parking can be a bit challenging, but we got lucky. Overall, it’s a nice place if you’re in West Vancouver and want Indian food. We spent about $100 for two (including a 20% tip) and have since ordered Uber Eats a couple more times. Highly recommended.

My favourite Indian restaurant! Their curries are the best Indian curries I’ve tried, very flavourful and creamy. Highly recommend their garlic naan as well. For drinks, their mango shake is great (less sweet than their mango lassi). Their service is top, everyone there makes sure you’re comfortable and enjoying your meal. Reema is super sweet and attentive. They have a nice patio for the summer days.
